Dearest reader,
Only God knows our heart...but we are known by our fruit. If the fruit isn't there, or stinks from hypocricy then it's really hard to believe there would be a conviction.
We can be accepted into heaven through our faith in Jesus Christ, but faith produces works (James) a long, long debate within our Christian faith. After spending a dozen hours studying and contemplating it, I have decided words are empty without the fruit of the spirit to go along with professing one's faith.
But, only God can judge, which is why we are told not to. BUT Christ did come to show the way (Gospels).
I just did something I've never done...I spent HOURS on this site, in a chat room, sharing my faith and the Word of God.
Convict me, cuz I'm going to bed!
ANd, I have a class at the seminary tomorrow as I continue to become trained to become a minister of the Gospel.
SO...the world better get used to my boldness, cuz here I come!
Goodnite and God Bless,
Darcel

I am not worthy. I would have to plead insanity because of the stupid things I have done in my life. The kind of question you ask gets right to the root of why I dislike organized religion. God is easy to love. "Church" people are a little more difficult. The measurement of someone elses Christianity is a troubleing thing. When I was a kid my family belonged to a church that would decide if the trouble you were having was a punishment as the result of sin in your life, or you were being tested because of your faith. The minister actualy believed he had the insight to make such judgements. Fortunately for me I have grown to understand that if I get into heaven it has nothing to do with my living a perfect life. It has to do with me making a perfect choice about the one who did live a perfect life. Now my eternity does not hang on some thread of evidence. It is secured by God himself, not me. When I stand before judgement and my life is reviewed, all I can do is hang my head. I will easily be found guilty of enough sins to sentence a whole generation to damnation. But then just as the verdict is read and I am pronounced guilty and my eternal punishment is about to be revealed God will be handed a note that will read "Sentence Paid In Full". As I hear that announcement I will lift my head and open my eyes to see the nail pierced hand still outstrectched from handing God the note that redeemed me. So my friend you ask if I could be convicted of being a Christian? My answer is I am not worthy of such praise.

Hello friend,
I believe I understand the intended premise of your question, but may I say that it is an old question that used to be asked by "Godly"
people to invoke shame on a "Christian" who in the eyes of the "Godly" may not have been living "up to potential".
But before you turn away, please read on.
The question, if asked to a professing Christian, would have to be rejected on the basis of 1 Samuel 16:7b.
A jury, I suppose would be made up of people. They are automatically disqualified on the basis of John 8:7.
If the question is asked to a person who may NOT even be "Christian", it voids itself.
Friend, I am not against you. Nor do I intend to anger you. I am a blood bought Born Again child of the Living God, Jesus Christ.
I hope and believe you meant well. But as Christians, we would better serve Christ by pointing others to His Word and using sound Biblical reasoning, than possibly trying to shame someone into being a better "Christian".
The "evidence" any jury sees, would be external. The kind that gains or loses favor in the eyes of man.
Please check me out in the Book. If I am wrong, I will admit it, because there is never any shame in learning.
I pray we may be united in Christ.
Blessings,
2 Tim. 2:7

Your question poses a difficult conclusion -- that man measures being "Christian" the same as God. Man is about works and outward appearance, good deeds, etc.
God promises that eternal life is a free gift, offered freely to those that admit their sinful nature and trust in the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

I hope so.
I used to be an atheist. Over a period of time however, I grew convinced of the existence of the Christian God, and ultimately committed my life to Christ (e.g., see http://www.godsci.org/gs/chri/testimony/seek.html ).
Cordially,
John

If they found out I was a member of a church that might seem like a call for conviction, but if your talking about me witnessing to others I unfortunately doubt it. I had plenty of witnesses to see my baptism.

If by evidence you mean self-righteous, judgemental, uptight, drinking latte's at a mega church and condemning anyone who's not like me, then no.
