Yeah, I agree with alot of people on here... (I'm Hispanic too by the way) Why would Non-Hispanics have to learn a language that isn't theirs as their first?

I don't think it is up to anyone really. A child will learn what ever language there parents speak. If you mean in school, than I would say that a child should learn whatever language that is spoken in that country, and possibly another language at the same time. But again, a child's first language is what ever there parents speak, and since most non-Hispanics can't speak Spanish in there houses, this really isn't possible.

No they should not learn it as their first language but as their second because in the world we live it it is very useful.
I am curious to know however why it angers you if someone that is not hispanic says that spanish is their first language? Maybe they grew up in a spanish speaking country or they have hispanic family. Spanish is my second language but my daughter who is american and mexican will most likely speak spanish first so I just wanted to know why it makes you angry that americans speak spanish as their first language(sorry I repeated myself) thanx and good question

I'm Saudi and I noticed that it was too important for me to learn English.. It made me open my eyes on different cultures and stuff and thank god our gov. is teaching us english in our schools..
So I think that Spanish should be the 2nd language after the Mother language and the English language.. cuz it makes it easier to contact many ppl....
thanks and have a nice day

No first language should be chosen as spanish. To me, it is one of the ugliest sounding languages on the planet.
