we broke up in the best way possible. my ex isnt even mad at me now, well, atleast that's what he's been telling me. but all our friends are thinking i was such a big asshole for leaving him. what should i do? the breakup was because i drifted away from him and just sort of lost my feelings for him. help... i feel so bad

Your friends need to come to terms with reality. Perhaps they saw you guys as a perfect couple and now the fantasy is over. Stick to you feelings. IF you and this person have drifted apart then so be it. Although I would double check to make sure he/she isn't bad mouthing you behind your back.
After some time if they still give you a hard time it may be time for new and more loyal friends

Good girl. Not only did you do what is best for you but for him as well. You treated him with respect and dignity and acted on your decision with maturity and class. Both of you would have been miserable had you kept the relationship for the sake of approval from your friends.
Maybe sooner or later they Will realize how wise you were...but if not, maybe they will never grow up.

don't stress yourself too hard. your friends weren't dating him YOU were. if you are sure that you made the right decision and you didn't want to work it out, forget them. They are the ASSHOLES.
