This has nothing to do with PETA... and for the record, education is the only solution. I got 12 serious answers and at least 2 who didn't know what a puppy mill was. So yeah, if I just stopped one person from buying at a pet store that I have in fact accomplished something. I live right next to Lancaster County, Pennsylvania... for anyone who doesn't know that is the puppy mill capitol of the US, no other county on this entire continent produces more puppies.

Yes!!! And the reason is I've been greatly involved in rescue.
Telly especially made me cry. This is a blue dobie. We're getting older and when I lost my very favorite dog to cancer, my husband (and the rescue squad) wanted to take in this "small blue doberman". Dobies were the love of my life. Still, when he bounced in my lap, I *had* to take him home. Wasn't really ready for another dog - cried mountain of tears over my dear Sam, a red dobie.
Neverthe less Willie won my heart and I took him home. (Big mistake). He was the worst, and most longest lived dog we've ever had. LOL! But your website made me think of him (deceased about 3 years ago at over 13!).
Yes they made my cry. I miss our dogs. We have absolutely wonderful cats, and I feel "too old" to deal with more rescue dogs, but it still makes me cry. Just love them.... sniff.

I didn't cry. I got sick. We treat the pets from these puppy mills. It's disgusting. Check out puppy auctions on that same website. A lot of these mills get their breeder dogs from those places. I have seen Havanese come in with rescue people straight from the auctions. It's absolutely heartbreaking! The rescue people have to try to outbid the breeders to rescue these pups. The breeders at these auctions are not looking to better the breed. They're looking to fatten their wallets. Those are the puppies you get in pet stores.

These are both sad, I have known about puppy mills for years. I have seen pet stores where pups were convulsing and they told me there was nothing wrong with them.
I stood outside the store, because I called the SPCA, while I waited for them to come I informed people of the problem with the pups and told them about puppy mills, I almost got arrested. They called the police. I made the newspapers and 6 weeks later the store was gone.

yes i would like to cry but i have to be strong for the animals and that they are out of that situation and in a better place. stuff like that makes me sick to my stomache. people that have these mills don't think of the well being of the animal, all they think of is making lots of money and selling their sick dogs to good homes, SICK!!

Well, I have to admit they are sad, but mostly make me mad. I used to volunteer at our local pound and you would be surprised about the sad critter stories going on in your own hometown.

It makes me cry that so many people believe the animal rights propaganda. They lie and doctor photos/videos to further their no pet agenda. I wouldn't believe them if they told me it was hot outside.
