To breeds that like to nip. This works on all ages of dogs. Mix 1/2 and 1/2 water and vinegar put in a spray bottle every time the dog bites spray it in the face and say no in a loud firm voice

Still not enough information. What are the biting incidents - 'mouthing' for attention, actual aggression, play biting when excited?
Regarding two of the other answers - under NO circumstances, for any breed or mix, do we meet aggression with aggression - it just escalates the problem behavior until you are no longer addressing the problem in a teaching mode, but have become a challenger/aggressor yourself!
Add to your question, we'll see if we can help.
Thanks

Rule out vision and hearing problems. Muzzle him. Sit down on the floor and have him lay down. Make him stay there for 10-15min. This will teach him that you are "Alpha" dog in his pack. You might have to work your way up to a that time. But make sure you release him from the down command before giving up. If it is an old dog, he might also be gelting doggie dementa. Talk to your Vet about that possibility.

You mean this dog's been biting for five years, and you're still feeding it? I don't feed things that attack me.
For god's sake, if you're not going to retrain it professionally, make sure it never gets near children. It's not the dogs that need training, it's the owners.

You might not be able to...the way I have been taught by a dog trainer is to "pinch" the dogs lip until he yelps.
