I'm just a little curious because on my wedding day I wore a sleeveless dress that showed the outer edge of my sun and moon tatoo, and an eight year old little girl asked me if I believed in the worshiped the devil. I just laughed at the cute little kid and told her no. Then, she asked me if I was telling the truth then why do I have devil fire on my back. This was priceless. When I showed her that it was a sun and told her that God was supposed to have created the sun. . . her mother runs up and tells her daughter not to ever listen to "people like me".

I know several pastors that have tatoos. One in particular I've added a link below.

I think the girl's mother was being a snoot... but that's just me.

A lot of people believe that getting tattoos is worshipping the devil becasue it says that in scripture. It also goes along with piercings being a form of worship to pagan gods. I believe that in today's day and age only a handful of people decorate their body's for ritualistic worship. I believe that Christians need to suck it up and accept some things for themselves instead of just doing everything becasue that is the way it has always been. Any type of organized Christianity is too ritualistic. If it makes any difference I hope to be a minister someday and I have four piercings and eventually two tattoos.

Are you kidding? a lack of judgment in body ornament does not equate marriage. Did all those sailors ought to marry the hula woman or their mom? Tattoos are purely stupid because they very last continually. Longer than maximum marriages. maximum reason you listen hostile to Christians getting tattoos are organic nonsense. they're purely unwise. They do very last continually, and elimination is really painful. They in no way seem almost as good as you imagine they do, and the opportunities are you'll remorseful about it as you become old.

Well, we DO have Christian liberties, but the reason some people have problems with it, is cuz our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit, and we are made in the image of God.

i think some ppl teach our kids the tattoos r bad - maybe to prevent the kids from doing something stupid, im not sure. there r some ppl who think that tattoos r the devils mark. i personally think that God gave us freedom to do what we wanted with our lives and bodies and its up to us to decide what we want to mark on them. i have a few piercings at the moment, (tongue, lobes x 2, carteledge and tragus) and would like to get a tattoo, which im working on. im not going to just get the first thing that i see in the shop when i go, i want it to mean something to me and what i believe in. they r forever and i want it to b something nice.

i think a sun is actually nice to have - it shows sunshine, cheeriness, happiness, something that represents God

*sighs and shakes head* I'm Catholic and I have no problem with tattoos. Well, I don't particularly like anything hateful (ie, Nazi) or devil worship-ish but hello! A sun and moon is so NOT demonic.

I am soo soo sorry. I can't imagine how that makes you feel. That lady was very rude. I believe in Jesus and if you want to get tatoos so what? Big deal! I doesn't change how you feel about God.
Always remember: Yeah my body is a temple, and I choose to decorate mine!!

well, it's in the old testament, i'm sure somebody will quote the passage if they haven't already. It says not to tattoo your body. . .. . .
In the new testament, it talks about your body being a temple for the holy spirit, a tattoo on your body would be like graffiti on a church. It's obviously NOT GOOD, but God forgives our mistakes. . . .. . .. if we're sorry.

I don't think there is anything morally wrong w/getting a tatoo. I'm a firm believer in Jesus & so are most of my friends, many of who have tatoos.

The only time I think it would be morally wrong for someone to get a tatoo is if a minor was going against the wishes of the parents. (Honor thy mother & thy father!)

Anyway, I don't think God condemns anyone to Hell if they have tatoos. Salvation is in the heart, not the skin!
