even though the damage was minor or unnoticeable. you still committed a felony. If you leave an accident scene without leaving your contact info on the car you hit or with the owner of the vehicle you can be charged with HIT-AND-RUN even if only in a parking lot. the only reason they would hunt you down is if you caused damage to the other persons vehicle and they called the police. If there are cameras and they got your plate they will use that to find you. Plus they will be able to get evidence off the other vehicle. NO Matter how lightly you tap a car you still have paint transfer. This can be used to id your car.

Well, of course you realize that the right thing to do would have been to leave a note. If there's no damage to your car, chances are there's no damage to the other car either. If you are contacted by the police, simply say that you felt that it was such a minor incident that no damage was done. If the other car has minimal damage, I seriously doubt that you would be charged with a "hit and run". If you're really worried, you may want to contact an attorney.

Actually you should have tried to find the driver of the car and found out what they wanted to do. If that was not possible, you should have left your name, address, and phone number on the car so they could contact you. If the police had been called, I doubt that you would have been charged with anything. They usually don't issue tickets for things like that in a parking lot.
