When I was in the Marines, I heard theirs' was 8 weeks.. Going home-- I have no clue...of course, I could be wrong-- I'd pay attention to the post above me...
The 10 day leave is right though.. All military is allowed a 10 day leave following boot camp. It serves as a break; celebration; beer drinking, etc...
Except the Army.. I think they do their specialty training there too.. They may get off-- hell I dunno, I tried...

Military people get 2 1/2 days vacation per month worked, so in 9 weeks he should have five days vacation. I guess it depends on what he's doing next. It may be setup for him to go directly to a technical school in which case he'd have to wait on the vacation. Unfortunately, he may not know if he'll be able to get vacation until bootcamp is just about over.

I was in the army and i know the navy is like the army all the military are the same as far as this is concerned. No. After basic he will be going to ait well thats what the army calls it. That is there job training. AFter job training he should be able to.

yes, unless his school starts right after he gets out, but most of the time the get leave.
