we've been dating for almost 2 years now, and he stood me up! we talked in the afternoon and he said he'd call me later cuz he was busy. Now it's almost midnight and he hasn't called me...is it wrong for me if i don't want to answer the phone if he calls me? i do not want to call him and make him feel like i need him!

From a man's prospective, you do have a right to be angry with him for standing you up. Especially if you have been dating as long as you have. There might have been a legititmate reason why he couldn't make the date. If there was one, all he had to do was pick up the phone!
Don't call him, let him call you. He is the one who has some serious explaining to do.

Don't answer the phone. Let him know that he can not treat you that way. He can leave a message to explain it. If he does not, he will eventually call at a decent hour and you should be acting very busy and unavailable to see him, unless he had a really dire circumstance. You will need to let him know politely that he can not treat you that way and that you will not be with anyone who puts you on the back burner. I had the same thing happen once and found out that he was cheating on me. But that does not mean that your guy is. It just means that something big may have happened but still yet, couldn't he have taken a moment to dial your number? That is just plain rude.

Geez! Stop being such a cry baby and get out of the house! So he stood you up...there must be a good reason. When he is ready, he will call you and give you and explanation. In the mean time, wipe your tears, go out and have some fun! It's not like you are joined at the hips to your boyfriend. Show him that you don't need him to go out and have a good time.

Well dont jump to conclusions maybe something came up. What I did when my boyfriend stood me up was when he called me that night ignore his phone call (that way he thinks your busy and having fun with out him) then wait 15-30 mins and call him. Make up an excuse like you didn't hear the phone ring.

The guy may truly have been busy today. Answer if he calls and find out all the details then. Sometimes guys are just plain thoughtless. It doesn't mean we don't care, we just get tied up.... by some gorgeous stripper who has her way with us and it's totally out of our control. Sorry, a bit off topic. Anyway he may have simply forgotten to call you back for what ever reason. Don't be upset just relax and don't panic wait to find out what he says before you go getting pissed off at him.

Are you sure that nothing uncontrollable happened. Because if not, then I completely understand. If he wants you he should be able to make time for you. BUt then again, he's human. On the other hand, humans remind themselves if it's important enough to them.
So on the fence, you have a right to feel how you feel however he has a right to tell you the excuse before you treat him wrong.

Well, if you are still interested in him - either pick up his call, or call him. Ask hin why didn't he call on time, find out what was his reason.
If you don't want him anymore - then it's time to part...
