In the past two weeks, I have been laid off a job I love and placed in a new job I hate. My grandpa died, my best friend moved away, and I have a major case of PMS. My husband is getting mad at me because I don't want to have sex (because I'm depressed). I just found out the school I go to is on probation and if I don't transfer soon I could lose my credits, bla bla bla. The list goes on. Please help cheer me up, I need positive energy. If anyone else can relate, it would also be helpful to just know you're out there.

I appreciate the prayers, but I must admit I'm not a real religious person. I kind of avoid it. But I am starting to feel a little bit better. Jgain, thanks alot, my grandpa would have said the same .. "this too shall pass". I am going to have a comforting warm mug of tea, get a hot bath, cry, and go to bed. Thanks everyone =]

k, I'll try. My grandmother always said, "This too, shall pass". It will get better. It is the message that every person who has killed themselves never learned.
Relax, have a drink, or a smoke (if you like that). Look at the positives in your life and see how they overcome the negatives.
Then tell me to go to hell. Tell me that it the same stuff that everyone tells you. :)
Reality is that life is tough. You will have bad times. The law of averages says you will have good times. Look at the good qualities that you have within YOU that will help you have GOOD times in the future. Your husband should understand your temporary desire for no sex. If he doesn't, well, he won't. Nobody will understand what YOU EXACTLY are going through.
It is selfishness to think he will understand. Just know that when things get better and you start acting better, LIFE will get better.
Good luck! JG

I really don't know how to cheer you up but i will tell that it is all God plan he will not put more on you then you can handle so i know that by reading your question that you love you old job but had to get another one that you hate God is seeing what you will do when you go thru trials but you pray to God about everthing and he will give you back the joy you have in your life and don't worry about your friend you will in the next few mths you will meet another friend and that will overcome your friend moving away and they will come back i promise so hold your head high cause it is just a work of the devil. Consider this, you could be an african woman with no husband, a daughter stolen by rebel fighters and have a baby with malaria or Aids, with no job you couldn't afford medicene and school credits would mean nothing. Besides that if your grandfather saw you wallowing in self pity what would he say? Consider yourself very lucky, lots of people don't have a grandfather either, be thankful you knew him. Get out there and smell the flowers.

Let me tell you that I can relate. At one point in my life I was on drugs lost my phone and truck had my dog killed went to jail and got kicked out of where I lived, but now I have a husband have a beautiful baby girl am about to graduate school and am actually happy. It helps to talk things out and even if you are not always depressed maybe you should look into antidepressent drugs. I take lexapro and that is not habit forming.

It sounds like you are under a lot of stress! It seems like bad things happen in clusters--it's never just one thing. Just remember--the pms is making everything even less tolerable. In a few weeks things will seem less awfull. My advise is to escape reality for a few hours by watching some great movies--preferably comedies. Anything that will get your mind off of your troubles. My best wishes to you!

man, i feel really bad that you're going through so much hard stuff in your life! trust me, i know what it's like to have a job that you hate...it totally brings down your whole view of your life and you dread going to work every single day! and your husband shouldn't be getting mad at you for not having sex with him - he should be patient and understanding and try to help you through your depression! hang in there. often times i find through faith that the harder you fall, the greater you will be lifted up in the end :)

Think about it this way:
-You've got a husband. Many people out there are alone in the world.
-You go to college. Many other people don't even get elementary education.
-You found a new job. You may hate it, but many others are struggling to find work.
Better days are ahead. Good luck. ;^)

this will not cheer you up but will make you appreciate life and the country you are in. Visit a third world country, better yet research in the internet the death rate on children in northern Africa due to hunger.

Dear God, sometimes I feel like I am surrounded by a dark heavy cloud. Not only is it around me, it is within me too.
Help me to remember that no matter how dark the day, the sun is shining – I just can't see it now. I am a chosen child of yours and I hear you calling my name. I promise myself to use all the means available to help myself. I trust in your presence to bring light out of darkness, hope out of despair.
