ground beef 2 lbs
onions diced 1
chili powder 5 tblsp
chili pods 1/4 lb
cayenne pepper 1 tsp
garlic powder 1 tsp
tomato puree 1 can
stewed or diced tomatoes 6 fresh or 2 cans
chili beans 4 cans or 2 c fresh pinto beans

in a large skillet, brown hamburger when the meat is almost done, add onions, beans, tomatoes and garlic powder. Turn heat down to medium and simmer this,
In another pot add the tomato puree with 1 can water and mix well while heating up. Add the chili powder, chili pods and cayenne pepper and cook, stirring constantly until this begins to thicken. Add to the meat mixture and simmer this on low for about 30-40 minutes, the longer you cook it ...the HOTTER it gets!

I always follow the recipe on the back of the product Mexene Chili Powder. You can find it in the aisle with the spices. I use this as a base and then I add to it what I think is missing. Like more heat I'll add some ground cayenne or more chili powder. Or I'll add a bit of beer to it. My chili never turns out the same but it is always a crowd pleaser.
