As you get older, age difference has less credibility, and is able to spread to a wider degree than younger couples. Mostly because it's not age that causes rifts in relationships, it's life experience. This is why it's not usually acceptable (at least to parents) for a 16-yr-old to date a 20-yr-old (high school sophomore vs. a college sophomore), but it's ok for a 14-yr-old to date a 17-yr-old (both high school students) or for an 18-yr-old to date a 22-yr-old (both college students). It's all relative to the environment of those involved, and most importantly of the maturity levels and compatibility of the couple as well.
My own experience in dating is actually very limited, as I didn't date at all in high school. But since college (and after, since I'm now almost 26) I've found that I've always dated older men. I'm currently dating a man who is 32, but who also has commitment and responsibility issues equal to a man in his early 20's. And it has started to cause some problems because I'm at the point that I am ready to commit to just one person, yet after 8 months he still wants to keep me as his main girl, but doesn't want to give up his 'freedom'. That's just to reiterate that age has nothing to do with maturity and relationship-readiness.
I don't think the age difference between you and your guy is too much, as long as you are both on the same level. Good luck!

I don't think that the age difference between you guys is that extreme. You're almost 19, and this person's 26, which is only 7 years. If you two happen to get along and really like each other, go for it!! Just keep in mind that you guys might not share the same interests , and there might be pressure in the relationship for things you're not quite ready for, though. The best thing to do is to take it slow. As for what is
''too old" for somone, I think that really depends on the person's preference. I'll be 25 next month and I won't date someone who's more then 5 years older then me (so 30 years old or younger is good.)

I can't say anything...my husband is 12 years older than me & couldn't be happier if I'd searched the world over. I guess it really depends on the person. There are 26 year olds that act like they're 15. There are 18 year olds that act like they're 35. I don't think age is that big of a deal as long as the couple is compatible.

When you hit 19 there is no such thing as to old. Unless they can be your mom or dad. But then there are still people that make that work.

go for it! I thought a 32 year old was HOT! ..but i'm in love and loyal to one guy only...he is 23 and i'm 19.. My friend from H.S. married a 49 year old..and now has a baby boy...and her step-son was in our class...so nothing is wrong with it...if u like him and he likes you...i don't see a thing wrong with it..

Good Luck!

I think that's fine. Age difference doesn't really matter now a days. You are an adult, so I'm sure you're making the right decision.
