Prozac, Paxil. SSRIs.

Find a doctor who won't tell you that you don't need drugs. These are good meds who will help out someone like you. You aren't a junkie. You're pulling your hair out! They are what you need to keep you "normal".
Good luck..

don't eat your hair. i went to a science museum where they had the hairball of a girl who ate her own hair for 6 years, and when they finally had to remove the hairball via surgery, the hairball had taken the shape of her stomach!
Talk to your doctor, there might be anti-anxiety medication he can put you on or something else he can do for you. furthermore, you mgiht want to also see a psychologist for a few sessions, in case there is anything from your childhood or something that was never cleared up that may have lead to your trichomania. good luck!

The actual medical term is Trichitillimania and I had done that for many years. In my case I actually had bald patches. After years of therapy and medication I have stopped doing that for the most part, but I have very long hair that I twist and tie in knots when I am anxious or nervous. The best solution for me was wearing a rubber band on my wrist and snapping it everytime I got the urge to pull my hair. After awhile I didn't have to wear a rubber band anymore.I really hope this helps!
