The amount of pictures saved on a memory card depends on the setting of the camera. (The amount of megapixels being used for the picture and the compression.) Another variable is video. If you are taking videos with your camera, they use more memory than a still photo.

To give you an example of how much storage can range on a one gig memory card here is a mini chart

MP...................Pics
2......................1137
3........................853
4........................512
5........................409
6........................320

These numbers are true if your camera is set on its maximum setting. If you adjust your settings, then your numbers will change also.

Salvador I wouldn't like to buy from you as you don't seem to know much about digital cameras as your answer implies.
The amount of information stored on a memory card for a digital camera depends on the setting of the camera.
Always set your digital camera to record the HIGHEST quality images unless you are practicing. IF A PHOTO IS WORTH TAKING IT IS WORTH TAKING AT THE BEST QUALITY.
Every digital camera gives you options of quality to save as.
With a 2 Mp camera a 1Gb card will store around 1100 images if the image size is stored at 900k. With a 5 Mp camera with image size stored at 2.5 Mb you will be able to record just over 400 images.
The way to calculate this is to find out what the size of the stored images are and divide 1024 by that number.
