You can spend anywhere from $40 to $250. Personally I am going to purchase an electric programmable model in stainless steel. You can automatically set it to start and stop and you don't have to monitor the cooker on the stove. Pressure cooking is a fast, convenient and fantastic way to cook anything from one pot meals to soups, stews, chowders and much more. All cookers come with a cookbook too and there are many good books in the library on pressure cooking too. You will wonder why you ever went without this great way to cook. They are safe too not like many years ago with the stories of exploding cookers. A favorite dinner in a cooker was a complete corned beef and cabbage dinner with all the veggies in under 45 minutes instead of hours of preparation. Make sure you get a stainless steel cooker and not an aluminum. You can conveniently shop them on the internet too.

What are you cooking in the pressure cooker, nothing should be cooked fast. Try a slower cooker or crock pot and savor the flavors.Meat is meant to be cooked slowly.
