Work with them regularly .As a teenager , I taught mine to "talk" and trained him with a little mirror with a bell on it . I could take him outside ( I wouldn't recommend it ) of his cage on my hand , as long as I had the mirror ready to ring the bell if he flew off. The second I rang the bell , he flew in a circle and came right back to my hand . I once rode miles on my bicycle with my parakeet on my hand . I admit it was risky (which I didn't realize at the time )but it proves they can be trained .

ok this takes several day maybe even a month or two so you need to be patient. Take it to a small room like a bathroom make sure the door is closed and the windows are too. the next step is to take the parakeet out of its cage with a towel so it wont bite you. set the parakeet on your knee and hold it there for a while then let it go it will fly around continue this process until he will stand on your leg and stay ther after he does that slowly move your hand up your leg towds it will fly away continue this process until he will let you pet its head and stomach keep doing this and then after a while he will let you hold him.

there is not any not ordinary numbers in contact the following, because each parakeet is diverse. some are smart sufficient to study certain words, or perhaps to apply certain words at particular situations. (My neighbor in middle college had a parakeet which could in ordinary words say "hi" once you first walked contained in the door.) different parakeets are dumb as a diaper complete of yuck, and could in no way talk. purely repeat a similar word round it very very frequently. Like in case you want the parakeet to say "hi", say "hi" to it about 500 situations an afternoon for a pair months. also, don't be taken aback in case you listen 1/2-formed words out of your parakeet at nighttime each in certain situations. I used to have a lesser sulphur crested cockatoo which could do this, attempting to sound out issues it heard through the day, yet in no way really getting them precise.

Parakeets can be hard to train and they have short memories. They are also very skittish if you don't work with them regularly. It's important that you work with them daily so they get used to you. If you think he's trying to bite you, then let him. Seriously, he's just a parakeet, he can only bite so hard. If you keep pulling your hand away he'll think you're afraid of him and won't ever step onto your hand.
