...by talking to God about it (pray). Just know that u can't control others; don't let others try to negatively influence u either. It's a shame that this is covertly or overtly taught (from generation to generation) as being acceptable...it seems to be especially true among females. This bad habit can be unlearned. It might be difficult, but it's not impossible.
It took a long time to rethink things, but I've limited my contact w/ this type of people...including relatives. I try to find constructive (not "yes" people) folks...even if it means finding them on Yahoo!Answers. (Smile.)
Also, it might be a lonely thing to do, but counteract the negative comments from others with a constructive comment from yourself. Ex. "Hmmm, she looks stupid in that uniform!" As u ignore that evil comment, you might say, "I think she's good at..." or " I was happy that she..." or "When she..., she really helped our team." I think u get the idea.
It's tough, but try 2 b a blessing 2 others. U'll b ridiculed, but ask God 2 help u b strong through that. He's been helping me.

You really need to talk to your coach about this type of behavior. If your coach is doing his/her job, this type of behavior will be stopped. If your coach doesn't face up to the responsibility go over his/her head and bring it to the head of the school, the principal. You shouldn't have to feel uncomfortable while playing for your own school. Do your own thing and make sure that your behavior and your abilities are above reproach. If you can manage that, then you will be the example that shines above your poor teammates and nobody can point a finger and say that your teammates had any sort of legitimate foot to stand on. Good luck and I'm sorry that you have to put up with this kind of immaturity! There are people out there that are different. Believe that. Peace and compassion be with you.

First of all, find out hardcore unsupporting team mates. Eliminate them. Out of the rest, a few would be supporting with little persuasion. The remaining would come to your fold if you do a little homework. You tell them with friendly explanation why you need their support and the purpose. It all depends on your commonsense, tactfulness and receiptivity. Result may not be cent per cent but definitely you would get distinction!

Figure out their strong suits and watch and wait when the opportunity arises for them to act on those strong suits. If these opportunities are not taken, or the team mates fail at them, don't say a word. The coach should catch this. Never step into the bounds of the nonsupporting team mates abilities. Eventually, they will realize either they are needed as a part of the team or they will quit because they are just miserable lil you know whats and nothing will please them.

The first thing to do probably would be to have a word with them and see if they're unsupportive only to ppl they are not very familiar with. And if that's the case, it always pays to be nice. However, if that's not the case, then guess, as they say, "Ignore/love (whichever's applicable) your foes, it really pisses them off !!!

He is gay. So what. Just be in his shoes. He is surrounded by Straight guys who possibly wants to beat him up because of his sexuality. This is silly right? What you have is homophobia. Why do you feel like this? Do you think he has a crush on you? Just because he is gay doesn't mean he will be chasing after every man he sees. Do you chase after every women you see? If he does say he likes you or if he starts to sexually harass you, then talk to your coach because sexual harassment is sexual harassment rgardless of their gender and sexual orientation. But you should not assume all gays are like that. Please watch movies like, "Milk", "Boys don't Cry" etc. Remember, Homophobia is very lame. Cheers!

Keep a low profile. Do not be emotional. Show tolerance. Go on trying to convince them for complete support. Go on repeating your advice. At last give warning. If still unsuccessful, act upon your warning.

here are few ways (possible)
1. you go on vacation deligating work effectively and etting them face the fire from mgmt...

2. tell them to stand daily/weekly basis in front of mgmt to explain what are 3 bg things which are biz. critical which they have achieved in this week

3. rate a buddy - team vote to rate each-others (Does person "A" is needed to be in company - Yes/no) fun poll! but gives god results

4. if you are in IT company - do not give dedicated machies ;-)

Was on this type of team in high school and I decided like every other member on my team to do nothing about it which at the end hurt us all because most of the team quit because of this problem. Sometimes even though you don't feel like the captain of your team or the #1 player ask your coach that either on a team trip or before or after practice you would like talk to your team about this. Tell them what your seeing and what you would like to change but remember you must lead by example.

Bring the problem to the coaches attention. If you nothing is done, then consider leaving the team. It is not worth staying on a team that doesn't care.

maybe they dont realize what they are doing...it may be unintentional u know...
So give them a taste of their own medicine...it might help them to know how to treat people...
And if they do it intentionally, change teams; and if u like the stuff you are doing too much for that, then chuck them, who cares if they do or dont support you, u carry on with ur job....
