Why are pet owners sitting on their hands?
Is it that most people don't know whats happening. It is not about BLS any more. There are people out there trying to take our right to own pets away. With California trying to make it angist the law to have an unaltered pet at all. If you do not know what that means on one will be able to have show dogs becasue you can not show a altered dog. There are states and city passing laws you can not have pets like hamsters, rats ginnie pigs, exotic brids like paroits, snakes and tropcal fish. For those who thinks PETA will help:
Here is a quote from Ingrid Newkirk PETA’s president.
“I don’t use the word “pet.” I think it’s speciesist language. I prefer “companion animal.” For one thing, we would NO LONGER ALLOW BREEDING.. People could not create different breeds. There would be no pet shops. If people had companion animals in their homes, those animals would have to be refugees from the animal shelters and the streets. You would have a protective relationship with them just as you would with an orphaned child. But as the surplus of cats and dogs (artificially engineered by centuries of forced breeding) declined, eventually companion animals would be phased out, and we would return to a more symbiotic relationship – enjoyment at a distance — Ingrid Newkirk, PETA’s President, quoted in The Harper’s Forum Book, Jack Hitt, ed., 1989, p.223. “

The problem is people think no one pays attention to PETA. That is why they can, Without people taking notice, they have put their people in postions to carry out thier wish and take away our rights and impose their will. They take in almost 30 million dollars a year. They kill 90% of the animals they take in. Where do you think the money is going.

No state in the USA will ever completely ban owning an unaltered pet... it's really quite that simple, sorry.

And that quote is at least 17 years old now anyway.

Jsomething - The problem with MSN laws...
1. The thugs do not care if they are within the law or not.
2. The irresponsible DO NOT CARE about their dog or if they lose it.

Why do people think that the thugs will be trotting on in to comply with the law, and that the uncaring will suddenly care about their animals? MSN laws DO NOT WORK! Look at CALIFORNIA!!!

tripforyou - It is VERY hard to have an unaltered dog in some places in the country. They are having to spay/neuter OLD GERIATRIC animals to comply with these STUPID laws that do not work! And there are also PLENTY of new quotes as well, but this is a good one. Their agenda HAS NOT changed.

Enforced LEASH LAWS work! Not only would the pet population numbers drop drastically, but it would also drop the numbers of dog attacks. Slap the irresponsible owners with large fines and court appearances. But they would have to actually ENFORCE existing leash laws. Its not rocket science.

But oh, thats right, the ARlites on here wouldn't want to be confused with the FACTS or things that would actually WORK..

PEOPLE - Are so many really naive enough to think that when it is only show dogs being bred the ARs will be happy with that??? After that it will be only only dogs that have had every single health test known, and then maybe only the top dogs in the breed, and then only those whose breeders are USDA (meaning seperate outdoor kennels, of which show breeders are not, can't afford to). They want to make it very hard for anyone to breed!Their goal is NO MORE BREEDING, EVER! If this happens, PB puppies will only be for the very rich, it will cost thousands for a puppy, if you can even find one. It SICKENS me that JQP is so easily persuaded to assist in their no pet agena!

This is one attempt at reducing the vast number of unwanted mutts that have to be euthanized each year. It is a growing and quite major problem in every single city. Your backyard breeders who own mutts continually allow their pets to have litters. They are not responsible owners finding good responsible homes for their litters and most wind up on the streets or being euthanized.

Do some research on the enormous number of euthanized animals each year. It is quite shocking to say the least. It is also quite sad. We are forced to try to police our fellow man into being more responsible. This is one attempt at doing so. I'm not entirely sure it isn't a bad idea. I want more time to think about all it's ramifications.

More laws outlawing unaltered pets SHOULD be passed. Any pet that is not show quality and being shown (yes even purebreds)should be altered. Forced breeding? Who the h*ll is forcing my neighbor to let her female dog run the streets and turn up pregnant every six months? Who the h*ll is forcing her not to have that mutt spayed? PEOPLE NEED TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR PETS. We kill millions of pets every year simply because people are to d#mn cheap to spay or neuter their pet. The cats that people toss out side who the h*ll is FORCING them to breed? Wise up. HUMAN have created the problem of pet overpopulation by not taking responsibility for their own pets.

One of the first things you need to learn if you want to make a difference is this:

No one can understand you if you can't speak or write your own language correctly. You have eleven spelling errors in that little spiel and countless grammatical errors. I cannot take you seriously if you cannot be bothered to learn your own language.
I say this for your own benefit.
