I can't understand why anyone should be anti- religion anything. But there seem to be some that feel it is there job to put down one's religion, for no reason whatsoever, that they feel it makes them smarter, a hero, or just a plain *ss. Same goes with people who get mad at Athiests. I just don't understand what they think they will accomplish by discriminating and putting down others. It is wrong and sad, and pointless. For example, I am Catholic, and I know what some say about it. About the priests, about our beliefs. But it seems that they just like too pick on us. To look at some horrible people who claim to be Catholic and say all of us are like that. I'm sure there is bad people in every religion. So my question is, if you are "anti-Catholic" would you say someone like Mother Theresa lived her life wrong? That she followed the wrong religion? Because being Catholic is part of her, and just look at what a wonderful woman she was. I don't think it could of happened any other way.

So some of you honestly think you are smarter than her?
-I'm not saying anyone should be Catholic, but I am saying noone should offend one. And for the record Catholics do not worship idols, that is a common missconception.

To "i never said i was cool" being anti-Catholic is different than non-Catholic! I never said being Catholic is the only way to go! No! I 'm saying that everyone is who they are because of everything in their life. If Mother Theresa was not a nun for example, I'm sure she would of found another way to help the poor. But because she was I'm sure that she was not so just by chance. She is a very wise and kind person and obviously she had brains, she was not blind. I'm just saying that the people who mock Catholics and say we are all wrong well here's someone who lived their life very right, so can you honestly say she was wrong? You can say this about any other good person. So my point is instead of trying to prove people wrong, why not see what we need to do?

As Archbishop Fulton Sheen said, many times, "There are not over a 100 people in the U.S. that hate the Catholic Church, there are millions however, who hate what they wrongly believe to be the Catholic Church -- which is, of course, quite a different thing."
People hate us (Catholics) because they do not bother to search for the Truth, but will rather take the word of someone else, often someone who took the word of someone else.

don'tgow/theflow,
I know what you are talking about. There are some Roman Catholics that have, and are doing some wonderful things.
Being a Protestant, I am ready to accept that Roman Catholic theology is horribly twisted. Jesuit by one definition.
But the scriptures are quite clear, that there is only one way into heaven, and that is through that one mediator that God set between Him and man, and that is Jesus Christ. No one else. I believe that there are some Roman Catholics that know Jesus. But talk about the stumbling blocks that the RCC puts in their way, just awful.
I have had extra messages from some that visit here.
You must know that I don't look at you any different than anyone else. But your church defies God's word, and attempt to give it things that were never meant to be.
Mother Teresa did some great things, but if she did not love Jesus, which I think that she did, then she is in a bad place. Same as anybody. If she was saved, and I think that she was, she is a saint whether the RCC says anything or not.
So remember, I might come off a little hard at times on RC's. But it's the institution that I am angry at, not you personally.
It's because they teach error.

I wouldn't say that I am so much Anit-Catholic. I believe that people of every sect of Christianity and many other religions all have big hearts. I do not believe that being Catholic is wrong or that everybody who is Catholic/ a priest/ etc. are the way that everybody else portrays them. I just feel that the Catholic religion becoming a figurehead like it has and imposing itself as a somewhat government over it's followers is not at all what Christ had in mind. I feel that being Catholic is just as honorable as anything else if not more honorable. I just feel that the Catholic church leaders have strayed too far from the teachings of Christ and have made too many things too much of a ritual instead of a loving and humbling worship of God anymore.

One does not have to be religious to be moral! In fact, most atheists I know are far more concerned with what is right and just than people who claim to be religious.
Mother Theresa could have accomplished what she did with or without religion. Because she did great things "in the name of god"- does that make them better than if they had been achieved "in the name of love? Humanity? Goodness?"
Mother Theresa was a great woman- but she did that all on her own. Remember Dumbo and the Magic Feather?
If you're happy being Catholic, then do it. Just leave us non-Catholics out of it.

Religion can encourage great things and terrible things but in the end it can be traced back to an ignorant group of guys who couldn't figure out why the hell the sun came up every morning, that is enough to discredit it for me. Mother Theresa was a very good person but sorry I still think she was very very mislead. An honest opinion, not an insult.

Although Mother Theresa was raised in the Catholic faith, she was a wonderful Christian. I believe that when we get to heaven, there will be no compartments for each denominations. There will be forgiven Christians who love Jesus. She did and she showed it by her life. I do too, and I trust that others see it my life. I do not agree with Catholic doctrine, but that does not mean that I bash Catholics. I love them. I want them to go to heaven too.

I belive that Mother Theresa meant to be a wonderful woman and live her life as closely to God as possible, however, she did do like most (NOT all) Catholics do...she worshiped Idols. No where in the bible does it say Mary was to be prayed to, in fact, several times in the bible it says NOT to worship anyone other than God...not God and Mary.

I don't judge or try to put down anyone (usually, depending on my mood), I'm just trying to bring more logic and reason to the world and am trying to reduce the delusion. I have nothing against Mother Theresa - I have great respect for what she did and I don't care what her religion was.

I am a "NO" which makes me defferent from all. I do not know another "NO". In fact all with whom I do talk ask me to explain what a "NO" is.
The word or suffix "anti" in the dictionary means both against and in place of. Now which definition are you refering to when you say many are "anti" catholic? I in my view just try to let others be what they want and I likewise expect to be free to be what I want in respect to religion and spirituality. I do not condemn another for not seeing the truth and not being a "NO". LOL LOL. That is their choice and option to be wrong. ha ha ha
I must ask you and some others who did answer this question: "What is or who is Good"? Do you or the others listen to and accept the words recorded as being said by Jesus? I have read He said, "No one is good but god alone", I do believe He said this when He was called Good Teacher. If that be the case who is now judging your Mother Theresa as good or as doing good? What is the standard? Who set the standard?
Can such a picture be as Robin Hood was in the stories. He robber the rich and gave to the poor. Now was he a good man, a righteous man, or whatever standard one does want to use? Does not the Bible say give to the poor? [Just asking to make maybe some think OK]
I must ask, in your opinion did this lady do what she wanted to do? Was she happy with her task or was she forced against her will to do it? Did she work and earn the money and then use that for her tasks or did she use the money of others as she did desire to use it? Did she give of herself against her will or did she give of what others did give to her to those whom she served? On other words was she very good at spending the money of others the way she wanted to spend it and for whom she chose to spend it on?
Did not this same lady receive the honor and glory from humankind as she did accept the peace prize? Is this honor and glory from humankind what the words of the Bible tell the servants of God to seek out or to accept?
I am not condemning her or praising her. I am not sold that she was a super saint, but then she is not and was not my servant. Likewise it is not my place to judge. Is it your place to judge her?
I must be honest I do not know her motives that did drive her to choose her career. I am very suspicious that it might have been connected to her desire to do good works in her view and maybe in the direction of earning her way to heaven. Do note I said I am suspicious only but I do know my God knows for sure. Rhus I must let Him be the judge as to her eternal home. I say that because I am of the opinion that it is grace not good works that does place one in heaven. I do accept that good works may be the results of a new birth but too many times the so called good works seem to be in place while individuals do still possess that same old nature they did inherit at the first birth. It is just kept hidden from view or overlooked by others.
How quickly most see a supposed unkind or so called bad judgement is the judging of others. However they never seem to see that praise is also the judging of others. I am under the impression that God and/or Jesus are the ones to judge humankind and it is not the place for one humankind to judge another. Am I too wrong because maybe I am a "NO" and not a Catholic, So called Christian, Muslim, Atheist, Agnostic, etc., etc.
Sorry in advance but I tell you I am very content and do enjoy answering questions here on this Yahoo Q&A Section. Likewise no matter what I will remain a "NO" and just smile a lot and continue to answer here OK.

Even though "Mother" Theresa was a good person and did lots of good things, if she didn't know Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior then she died and went to hell. Being good is not enough not matter what religion you are. You have to have a personal relationship with Christ.
