I go to confession once a month - more often if needed.
Yes, I confess ALL my sins to a priest, especially the mortal sins
**
Amazing that people are putting down the Catholic confession - I wonder how many actually know what goes on, and the formula for making a good confession. . . I wonder how many even bothered to look?. . .I wonder how many are taking the word of someone else, because they are just to lazy to check up on something as simple as a confession on their own.

I've never confessed to a priest and I never will. I pray to God - that is all. He forgives our sins.

I confess to God, not to some man who would seek to interpose himself between me and my blessed Savior, Amen!
1 Timothy 2:5 For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave himself as a ransom for all, which is the testimony given at the proper time.
It is God who cleanses me from sin and not following some religious ritual that was invented by men who sought to take the place of Christ who is the way, the truth and the life and through whom we have access to God with confidence!
1 John 1:8 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
Hebrews 4:14 Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. 15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

How often: every single day
To a priest? I'm not Catholic. Never understood going through the middleman like that.

Never. We don't need to do that. We can talk to God for ourselves. Because of Jesus, our Advocate, who goes before the Father God on our behalf, we don't need to tell our sins to any other person. It is an old fashioned Catholic tradition used by the church to control the people with fear of going to hell. Tell Jesus all about your sin and repen to Him. He hears you and will forgive you right now.
