I have a hard time dealing with stress and just everyday life. I can manage doing my house work and regular chores but work and school and things like that just stress me out so badly i get into the position that I don't want to do anything at all! I try to explain to my Dr and psycologist at Mental Health what is wrong and They don't seem to understand or my mind gos blank. I wriute things down but then i can't back them up when they ask me questions about these things because i forget. Yes I also have trouble with memory loss. They have me on Depekote 250mg and Lexipro 10mg. these don't seem to help anymore. I was still fuzzy headed with them but the Dr said since they are working somewhat to stay on them and handed me another script. I need time to be able to think about things before I do them, and with school I don't have that chance. I am in school because no one will hire me for a job. I have applied for SSD but was denied. what can i do to make them realize i can't cope!NOTLAZY

You can get an attorney if you've been denied disability benefits. I'm on disabiltiy due to my mental illness and it's been a godsend for me because I couldn't hold a job due it my eating disorder and depression. I had been hospitalized 6 times for mental illness and twice for medical reasons due to the mental illness. You just have to have documentation to back up your reasons for disability. I had to give them medical records from every hospital, doctor, psychiatrist, psychologist, therapist, etc related to my reason for disability. I don't believe that you're lazy at all.

. I WAS DECLARED MENTALLY DISABLED IN 1994.TRUST ME FROM THE SYMPTOMS YOU DESCRIBE YOU WILL NOT / DO NOT QUALIFY. AND BE HAPPY YOU DO NOT. SEVERE DEPRESSION IS DEBILITATING YOU BECOME UNABLE TO PARTICIPATE IN ANY ASPECT OF YOUR LIFE. HOUSE CLEANING,PERSONAL HYGIENE, EATING EVEN BEING AWAKE AND /OR SLEEPING BECOME A CHALLENGE AND OVERWHELMING.SUICIDE OCCUPIED MY THOUGHTS CONSTANTLY AND I ACTED ON THEM ON MORE THAN ONE OCCASION. I SPENT THE BETTER PART OF THE NEXT 3 YEARS HOSPITALIZED IN A PSYCHIATRIC WARD .I HAD 10 ROUNDS OF ECT TREATMENT PLUS YEARS OF MEDICATION ROULETTE TRYING TO FIND THE RIGHT MEDICATIONS. LETS NOT FORGET THE FULL TIME OUT PATIENT DAY TREATMENT PROGRAMS.

YOU ARE NOT LAZY AND EVEN THOUGH IT MAY NOT FEEL LIKE YOU ARE COPING !! I HOPE YOU OR ANY ONE ELSE HAS TO ENDURE THE AGONY I WENT THRU. YOUR SYMPTOMS ARE SOMEWHAT MANAGEABLE RIGHT NOW STAY ON TOP OF THAT. SEEK OUT BETTER THERAPY FOR YOURSELF. JOIN SOME SUPPORT GROUPS IF YOU ARE HAVING MEMORY OR CONCENTRATION PROBLEMS ASK TO BE TESTED FOR ADULT AAD/AHAD THIS COULD BE THE UNDERLINING PROBLEM.TRYING TO LIVE ON WHAT YOU GET FROM SSI OR SSD IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE.SO DO NOT THINK THAT IT IS A EASY /BETTER WAY OUT.

ONCE YOU FIND OUT WHAT IS AT THE CORE OF YOUR DISORDER YOU WILL START TO GET THE RIGHT TREATMENT AND YOU WILL START GETTING BETTER OR STABLE. I HAVE BEEN STABLE SINCE 1997 I STILL AM DISABLED I STILL TAKE MEDS AND I STILL DO MAINTENANCE THERAPY. MY LIFE IS MANAGEABLE BUT NOT EASY.

I WISH YOU THE BEST. LOOK AND GO FORWARD AND TRY NOT TO TAKE STEPS BACK-WARDS !

to help explain to you doctor you can look up different mental illnesses up on the Internet and when you see symptoms of what you have print them out and show them to him. that's what i had to do because my mind would go blank trying to talk to my Dr and i would do the whole writing things down and i would hand he list of things i wrote to the doctor and he would ask me questions about them and i would just go blank again. i finally looked up a whole bunch of mental illnesses on the Internet and whenever i found one that i had i few symptoms of i would print it out and highlight it i had about 7 or 8 different articles with highlighted sections and then he finally gave me a proper diagnosis. maybe if you can get properly diagnosed they can give you the right meds or you can prove that you are too sick to work. i hope this helps sorry i went on for so long

are you bipolar?or are you agoraphobic?if you don't know what agoraphobic is look it up. that's what it sounds like to me.the pill's they have you on could be whats making you fuzzy.and if your agoraphobic i don't think that's the right meds anyway, look in to it.
now I know people have trouble with mental health and need meds to help them but it seems to me that they have a pill for everything now days. now I'm not saying to stop taking your meds but try to will your self back to health a kind of mined over matter if you will
I wish i could help more sorry hope it works out for you.
