How do i make ym Hp dvd/cd writer burn a doble layer verbatim dvd+r that my friend made for me?

i dont know which program my friend used and my dvd writer wont read the dvd and doesnt ven know that it is there.
my dvd writer is a dvd+rw/+r

Are you trying to read a double-layer DVD that your friend already burned data to, or are you starting with a blank one?

If it's blank, then your burner probably doesn't have the ability to burn to dual-layer DVDs. Most burners that came out before there were ones that could do both + and - R/RW discs don't support dual-layer. You need to check the specs for your drive.

However, if the disc you have was finished properly (the last session written on the disc was closed), your burner should have no problems reading it...
