even after the Ten Commandments said “Thou shall not kill”. For example, God kills 70,000 innocent people because David ordered a census of the people (1 Chronicles 21). God also orders the destruction of 60 cities so that the Israelites can live there. He orders the killing of all the men, women, and children of each city, and the looting of all of value (Deuteronomy 3). He orders another attack and the killing of “all the living creatures of the city: men and women, young, and old, as well as oxen sheep, and asses” (Joshua 6). In Judges 21, He orders the murder of all the people of Jabesh-gilead, except for the virgin girls who were taken to be forcibly raped and married. When they wanted more virgins, God told them to hide alongside the road and when they saw a girl they liked, kidnap her and forcibly rape her and make her your wife! Just about every other page in the Old Testament has God killing somebody! In 2 Kings 10:18-27, God orders the murder of all the worshipers of a different god in their very own church! In total God kills 371,186 people directly and orders another 1,862,265 people murdered

Here we go again !!! How many times do you need to be told that it is not God doing this? This is the problem with all the non-Christians, they continue to blame God. It is Man themselves that causes all this anguish and suffering. You need to read the full contents of the Bible and not just select the choosen verses that you have. You can not understand the whole picture of happenings , if you only choose to take only part of the scripture and use it. Go back and do it again. Good Luck

no it isnt that way. when God asks u to do that, he means that put a stop to all the opression the tyrant is inflicting on u. im a muslim and i'm saying this with a perspective of Quran and Bible and Torah and Zabur.
example, u dont study for ur exams and ur parents say, "study or i'll thrw u out of the house or they say study or u are going to get one tight slap from me". do they really mean that.
simpler, suppose u and ur sibling are left at home when ur parents are going out and they ask u to take care of ur sibling. they say that if she/he is naughty then give him a tap. but do they mean that u give a blow so hard that ur sibling will die?
when ur parents of few years feel bad when they slap u the imagine how much it would pain God to see His creation worship something else.
but i really cannot say whats in the passages u qouted. this is something that christians should answer but i know they will try procrastinating ur question without a valid answer. there are many who do not understand the words of God and interpret it correctly.. some may curse u and say u are ignorant but they will not answer ur question. thats for sure.
may the peace and blessings of Allah be with us and may He guide us in the right path.

There was a reason that God ordered all the men, women, children, and livestock to be killed. He doesn't order the killing of innocent people. There was something in those days called Nephelim. Fallen angels, demons who followed Satan, took women to mate with them, creating a race of half human, half demon. Goliath was a Nephelim. The populations in those cities a gene pool problem. God had to have everyone in those cities killed to destroy the Nephelim DNA.

There are no "innocent" people. We all deserve to die. It is only by God's grace and mercy that anyone is ever spared. Every time that God ordered the Israelites to kill all of the people and they failed to listen to God, the surviving people influenced the Israelites to turn from God and to worship pagan idols and so to bring God's judgment on them all.
God judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart and He knows what He is doing. The Old Testament in so clear in revealing the wrath, power, and fierceness of God, that it only makes His work of redemption through Jesus Christ more amazing. Through Jesus Christ we can approach God's throne "with confidence" and no longer with fear and trembling.
To begin to understand that is to fall before Him in worship.

Only He knows the hearts of people. Only He knows the beginning and the end. Only He knows what was in the future for those people and if they entered eternity early that's His responsibility.
But with an eternal God He knows what is best for all parties.

were they following God or not? in the experience that they were warned and they were then they face the punishment that God has set out for them. God does not favor to kill all and sundry - we make selections that in turn rigidity God to take His fingers off us and enable us be destroyed both via God or somebody else.

Out of context, clipped and pasted words coming from a profoundly Bible ignorant malcontent with some kind of hidden agenda. Read the following because sooner or later evil will fall.
God will rule in all the lands some day as he already does in the hearts of many happy , peaceful Christians. Try having some of this yourself. You too are invited.

God does not kill people.
It is people who kill people.
Just like a gun doesn't kill people.
It is the person who pulls the trigger that kills people.
Nothing more, nothing less.
It is that simple.
Unless of course you want to make it complicated to make it seem your right.

What makes you think God ordered this? Because some man said God told him to? God doesn't order murders of any innocent people.
