Aren't you going to feel really stupid when you die and stand in front of God for judgement.

Although religion may may not make for a peaceful worl, a lot of people need it to give them "inner peace" which is a more immediate need for most of the world. The history of wars in the world caused by religion has soured me on the subject as well, but it gives a great many people hope. And whats wrong with that?

It just gives them hope and a reason to live, i dont personally need it, i do not have a declared religion. But i do understand the concept, some people need recognition of a brighter future to wake up in the morning. i dont necessarily think that people are scared of dying and thats why they need a god. and i personally dont believe you know what happens after you die so no reason to put others down for it (maybe you arent doing that, but it does seem like you are talking down to others)

I just arrived home from this beautiful place out in the country. It was a gospel music fest called Singing on the Mountain. I hope there is more to life than this. If not, then it would be a sad life to think that way.

I agree with you, but I think people need religion for morality. I believe that people need something to control their actions (what is to keep people from plundering murdering etc?) Humanity created god as a way to police ourselves. Religion will eventually fade away as new forms technology replace the spot of god. Right now it is "kill this person and I am doomed forever in(Hell)". In the future it may evolve into, "Kill this person, and technologically everyone will know immediately and my life is doomed." People think they need religion but they don't they just need something to guide them until something better comes along.

To make the world a better place & to make it to Heaven. Having God on my side has made my life better in too many ways to count.

In the name of Allah, The Most Gracious, The Most Merciful
Because Allah (God) created us, and the life we live right now is a test by Allah, you are either rewarded by Paradise or Hell.

well Dude....I'm not afraid to die,but you go on thinking this little, fantasy you've made up for yourself and $20 ,WHEN IT COMES DOWN TO IT YOU GET OLDER AND START GETTING SICK,AND REALIZE YOU ARE NOT IMMORTAL, YOU WILL OWN UP TO IT,THAT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR SOMETHING ELSE,AND ANOTHER $20,YOU'LL BE CRYING,AND BEGGING FOR SOMEONE TO GET YOU A MINISTER WHEN YOU ARE ON YOUR DEATH BED,IF YOU CAN, i hope you'll have a chance before the end of your life, because there is a afterlife, and yours will be in Hell if you don't start thinking other than in your little fantasy cocoon life you made for yourself.
