Yeah, so it's kind of confusing. I never "officially" dated this girl, but now that I'm off to college, we'd be pretty far away (in the same state though). Anyways, I try to convince myself that it has no way of working, and that we're on seperate paths, and that we'll meet other people, but it doesn't seem to help.
I'd probably get jealous if she got a boyfriend, and I don't know if I'm ready for a new girl in my life. How do I get past this?

Keep yourself busy and stop thinking about the past. Tomorrow is a new day...and treat it as such! So you are not ready for a new girl in your life today, but what about next week, next month or the month after that. If you keep dwelling on her, you will never come to meet someone new. Let it go....

If you really love this girl, that feeling will never and i mean NEVER go away. You can love some one from afar. Space is sometimes good in a relationship because you can check out your options. She isn't going any where right now so focus on your education and see her when you can. I am sure the intensity level is high, you sound like your in love. Thats a wonderful thing, but how does she feel about you and are you willing to make a commitment to her and her alone? thats the real question... in can work if you work at it and the feeling is mutual. good luck!

I laugh not at you but with you. I had a similar experience 30 yrs. ago, I was torn inside, I had feelings that confused me, then I learned it was my fear of leaving my home, of going into a new environment that was my real fear. The girl got along just fine without me.
Keep those sweet romantic feelings you have for this girl, who you say is not even your girlfriend, you will find the perfect girl in the right place.
