its a drainage of toxins from the sinus area
the mucous from your noes hit the air and become dry and the longer it stays the more it collects and the dryer it gets good question

I think it has to do with the tiny air particles you breath in and your body's mucus trying to send it back out.

they are trapped particles in the air and somtimes small bugs, they stick to the mucose in your nose and on your nose hair

I believe that it comes from dust particles.
