The 74138 can demux a SINGLE BIT into one of eight channels. In this role you use the A B & C inputs to select one of the output channels, and one of the three enable pins as the data input. For a non-inverting dumux, tie G1 and either of the G NOT inputs high, then use the other G NOT input as Data In. The output you select will then follow Data In, and the other seven outputs will remain high.

Set G1 high, G2, G3 Low, and what ever is on the A,B and C pins determines what output (Y0 - Y7) goes Low. example A = 1, B= 0, C = 1, would make Y5 go low. A = 0, B = 1, C = 0 would make Y2 go low.
