Crunches won't do it. The muscle that holds your tummy tight is the transverse abdominal muscle. It sits like a girdle below the other abdominal muscles. Crunches will give you a six-pack but training the transverse abdominal muscle will hold your trunk tight and flat. One way to hit that muscle is the plank exercise.

Lose weight all over and you will lose it there. There's no such thing as targeting one area and losing fat there, have you ever seen a person with a flat stomach and two chins?

diet and cardio;
diet = enough calories for bodily maintenance
cardio = 20mins+ aerobics/exercise for burning fat
since you cannot "spot reduce" (target a specific part of the body for fat loss) fat, you need to get your body to utilise the fat overall.
