Why do people say that Muslims do not belong in the west?

Just because my husband is Muslim does not mean he can't be British.

My husband was born in the UK so were his parents. His mother can even trace her family back to the Magna Carta.

He has served in the Bristish Army in Northern Ireland and Bosnia protecting his country and the people who say he is not British just because of his religion..

He now has a susccessful business paying taxes and giving jobs to people like those who say Muslims can't be British..

My husband loves his country. And the British values of freedom , fairness , and democracy. He is a true Brit.

Are those people who want to take away my husband human rights acting like true Brits?

What right do they have to say that my husband and other Muslims can not be British?

Because they are racist jerks....don't pay them a bit of mind. Anyone with a brain knows that the people who are terrorists are not representative of the entire Muslim population.

His religion is his own choice. It cannot and should not be mandated by any government.

That said, you (and he) must understand that in the world today, terrorism is on the mind of just about anyone who is currently breathing. It is not his fault that those who claim to be Muslim account for about 98% of the current terroristic acts. He is fighting an uphill battle for acceptance.

All he can do is continue to live a life that is an example of a peace loving Muslim. Sometimes it pays to set your life before people as an example. Actions speak louder than words.

Unfortunately the bad Muslims have made it bad for the good ones.
I find that very sad . I have 2 Muslim friends that are good people .
People need to educate themselves and not follow what everyone else thinks.
After 9/11 I read the Quran.
I find it a very peaceful book.
I am Christian BTW.

I understand your plight and respect that your husband is definately a Brit!
If the practioners of the three middle eastern religions would spend as much time studying their histories as they do attempting to convert their noses into a holy suppository, they would be ashamed of the centuries of crimes against humanity that their organizations have caused.

There are always fools who can't separate the normal folk from the fanatics. EVERY religion has fanatics that are just plain crazy (Christianity has a looooong history of them, something folks tend to conveiniently forget). I say ignore the boors who say things like this. I am a christian, I know several muslims who are good, hard-working folk. Good luck.

Don't listen to them ... if he's a British citizen and pays his loyalty to Britain ... and serving in Northern Ireland can't have been a joke .... well then he's British!

Unfortunately, given the present climate of fear and insecurity, people tend to group a whole religion or race under one umbrella for the actions of a few.
