Check out the AKC website and their Breeder Referral page. Even if the person you call doesn't have puppies at that time, many times they can refer you to someone who does, or will be soon.

of course there are german shepherd breeders in iowa! i'm guessing you have a computer, look it up! AKC german shepherd. com. Buy a copy of dog fancy, i think they sell it in iowa. they have pages of dog breeders.
