Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition !!

2006-08-18 16:22:08 · answer #1 · answered by SB 7 · 0 1

All gods love praise. Every nation has created a god, and the god has always resembled his creators. He hated and loved what they hated and loved, and he was invariably found on the side of those in power. Each god was intensely patriotic, and detested all nations but his own. All these gods demanded praise, flattery, and worship. Most of them were pleased with sacrifice, and the smell of innocent blood has ever been considered a divine perfume. All these gods have insisted upon having a vast number of priests, and the priests have always insisted upon being supported by the people, and the principal business of these priests has been to boast about their god, and to insist that he could easily vanquish all the other gods put together.

Don't "worship" anything or anyone if that's the attitude you have towards it. By the way, if you're referring to the Monotheistic God of Abraham and of Christ the Son of God, you're way off on the theology. It's a matter of common sense that, as with any other subject, the theology must be studied and understood before an intelligent comment can be made regarding it.

If you look at it in that light then nothing anyone says really matters now does it?
He is not about flattery but you would have to honestly seek him to know that.
He does not torture you in hell either, Hell is eternity away from God in darkness. Imagine being in a dark closet or cave. so dark that you literally cannot see your hand in front of your face. Imagine that forever, you cannot see, nor talk to anyone nor feel anything. Eternal darkness away from the Light(GOD)
now you do the homework if you wish or not,.
It is totally up to you.
God Bless

This "dude" as you so quaintly call him is not capable of being described, His attributes are so great, His knowledge so vast, His love for mankind so unfathomable as to humble all attempts to characterize Him. Those who acknowledge Him have learned that His essence is love and that love is unlimited toward all His creation. Recognizing man's fallen and sinful state, a blood sacrifice was required to redeem us. God sent us His son, this "dude" to die for our sins. Once this sacrifice is accepted we become free from the penalty and power of sin and in gratitude offer up praise and "flattery" to HIm out of a pure and thankful heart.

He doesn't say flatter me - he says believe in me. He says I love you - please come to me. If you don't believe in God - then of course you don't believe in heaven - which means you can't go there when you die - and it's not God that tortures you - it's Satan. If you choose to follow God, then you choose to go to heaven. If you choose not to, then you choose to go to hell. It's a choice you make. God loves you. He wants you to make the choice to follow him - because he has so many good plans for you and he wants to be able to work them out in your life and for the rest of your eternity. Satan, on the other hand, wants you to think that God is a liar, and that it's all a big joke. I'll be in prayer for you. :)

Well, your question shows a complete lack of understanding of who God reveals Himself to be. I worship Him because He is perfect in His holiness, His justice, His wisdom, His love, His kindness, His compassion, His understanding, His forgiveness, His mercy, and on and on and on.

I worship Him because He chooses to love me perfectly as I am. There is nothing I can do to earn His forgiveness. He offers forgiveness, salvation, and eternity in His presence freely and without strings.

Sounds like someone who has a big self image problem or maybe a bully with a fat ego. Isn't this the same guy that asked someone to kill his own kid in order to prove his love for him once? That sounds like something that a psychopath would do. I think the fellow needs to ask for forgiveness.
