I recently bought a used vehicle and only after having it for a week, I find out that I need to have major repairs done to it. Unfortunately I bought it with no warranty. Can I do anything or am I stuck?

If it was as is you are stuck. You could ask to return the vehicle and when they refuse tell them you are going to hire an attorney. Maybe you can bluff them into doing the right thing.

You bought a car As-Is. You did not have it checked out prior to purchase by a qualified mechanic. You made two choices that in hindsight were not very good!

You are going to have to pay for the repairs! If there was no warranty, once you took possession of the vehicle, any and all problems became yours!

Sorry

There is no right of recission period on vehicle purchases, unless the dealer offers one. Since a warranty was not offered with the vehicle, you are stuck with the vehicle and the repairs. You can always call the dealer and let them know what happened - maybe they will work with you. It never hurts to ask.

I am not certain about this, but I think with a major purchase, such as a vehicle, you can return it within 30 days for a refund.

You might be stuck....but you can try to sell it to someone else..(as is)....or fix it (all vehicles wearout after time)...or if you bought at a dealership maybe go back and see if they will work out a deal with you.....who knows they might????

Many states have a Lemon Law.

unless you can prove they made fraudulent statements regarding the car's condition, you're stuck

hopefully the former owner will admit the fault & by the car back for the previous price

hire an attorney and ask questions about the lemon laws if your state has one.
