I guess they are happy. I had 1 budgie and he sang and chirped whenever we came home. We would just put the keys in the doorknob and I could hear him chirping to welcome us home. When we went on vacation I gave him to my friend who had a giant bird cage filled with about 20 budgies. My budgie was kept in his own cage but beside the other cage.
When I came to pick him up after a week... he never sang again. :(
Don't know what happened... he was not mixed in with the other birds.

Lovebirds are VERY noisey. Its just who they are and wat they do! My lovebirds use to drive every one nuts but after a while they got used to things and so did the birds now it has been 3 years and with in 6months they mellowed out! Good luck! Hope they stay healthy!!

I do not know if they are just plain tired of eachother or the female is in heat and the male wants to get it on with her and she is telling him to back off! that is my two ides but you could ask any pet store or a vet. or buy a book on it I aam sure it covers that

I think your bird is/was lonely and when your bird was with them he/she loved that! so if your bird is still alive buy him/her a mate. your bird will love you for it and start singing too.
