Mayweather.

If this fight ever comes about, De La Hoya will be taking it for the huge payday he's going to get. Mayweather is pound for pound the best boxer today. However, De La Hoya at 147 has proven he can take on anyone, and win. Oscar needs to be in phenomenal shape. Fighting PBF is like running a marathon, only your getting hit in the face for the entire race. He better start chasing some chickens.

One note, already mentioned is the fact that De La Hoya said he won't fight Mayweather without Floyd Sr. in his corner. I read recently that Sr. is ok with the idea now. Before he had reservations but $$ can sway the biggest loyalties.

OUTCOME: Mayweather 12 rd UD unless he hits Oscar in the liver, ala Hopkins.

PS Baldomir KO Mayweather? Is that a punchline? If Judah, Corley, Castillo (2x) and Coralles couldn't knock him out what makes you think a guy with less than 15 KOs in over 55 pro fights is gonna do it. Baldomir is going to school. PBF is not Gatti.

Oscar wants the fight...if only for the payday, but not in November and Mayweather has a date for a fight then. Will Mosley fight Floyd? Not until Baldamir does and if you watched the Gatti vs Baldamir fight you know that Baldamir is for real. I think that Floyd, as fast as he is, gets a power lesson from Baldamir because he has not done his homework...as others have said before he is too busy running his mouth and relying on his talent when there is work to be done...

So because of all the variables when it comes time for a De La Hoya vs Mayweather it will not happen because there will not be enough money in it for Oscar when the fight can be made...

Anyone notice how many times Baldamir's name has come up...and how little respect the guy gets even thought he holds a major belt?

I think Cash got it right. If "Flawed" Mayweather keeps running his mouth, Baldomir is going to KO him and then there wont be any need to see a Mayweather vs. De La Hoya. Maybe then he'll fight Antonio Margarito since he (Mayweather) has ducked him for so long. But Baldomir vs. Margarito would be one of the more anticipated fights in a while since I know Baldomir wouldn't duck a charging bull in Pamplona let alone Margarito. Mexico vs. Argentina again. That would be an awesome match-up.

I don't think the fight will ever happen. Blood is thicker than water. Mayweather won't train De la Hoya to beat his own son. Bottom line. Another point you shuld consider is the Baldomir vs Mayweather fight. Unless Floyd survives the fight who cares if he fights DeLaHoya. IF Floyd runs his mouth and forgets to run from Baldomir he's going to get KO'd. Yep, you heard it right here first.

I doubt this fight will ever happen. Look what they said abut it.
.......

" I always want to fight the best talent, but there's nothing on the table," De La Hoya said. "(Floyd Jr.) is the best pound-for-pound fighter out there, but out of respect, I'd have to sit down and discuss it with Floyd Sr. because he's my trainer and he's his father," De La Hoya said. "That fight is not a guarantee."

Mayweather Sr. trained his son until they split professionally seven years ago and Mayweather Jr.'s uncle Roger Mayweather became his trainer. Despite his son's desire to fight De La Hoya, Mayweather Sr. said that's one fight he won't be a part of, and doubts it will happen.

"I don't give a damn what he wants. I'm the daddy and, in this particular situation, I'm calling the shots," he said. "Everybody wants to see this fight, but nobody's got to lay down with this burden.

"What kind of daddy would I be to train somebody to knock out my son? At the end of the day, I trained both of them. Either way, it's what I gave them to win with or lose with. It's a no-win situation."
