Who do you think the woman wearing purple riding on the beast represents in the book of Revelation?

I believe I do know, but then again, it is a mystery, so I could be wrong....What do you think?

She represents Babylon the Great, the world empire of false religion of which Christendom is a major part. She places herself above earthly kings (modern term being presidents)and nations, exercising power and influence over them. She is responsible for the killing of God's servants throughout history, as Revelation 17: 6 states: "And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus--" We are thus reminded of all the wars fought in the name of religion, including the horrible crusades, the war in Iraq and the clash between Israel and Lebanon. Yes, Babylon the Great is a great harlot who involves herself in politics, and condones war and has made herself bloodguilty and an enemy of God.

This is a pretty big study. A woman in prophecy symbolizes a church. If you recall from Revelation 12, it speaks of a woman dressed very opposite to the woman spoken of in Revelation 13.

The woman of Rev. 12 is the true church and the woman of Rev. 13 is a false church. Who are these churches?

A question that you need to ask yourself, who is peaching the truth?

The last statistic that I heard, there are about 26,000-33,000 different denominations in the world today!

Are they all preaching the truth? Are some preaching the truth? Or is there only one church preaching the truth today?

The Book Revelation was ordered 'sealed up' until the end time. No one can add or subtract to it. Or interpret it. The only one with the Authority to unseal it is the Christ, also known as the Seventh Angel/Prophet in the 'book sealed with 7 seals'.

So, we cannot speculate or think we know. We have to understand and read God's Word in the New Revelation.

I believe the woman represents Israelites (the Jewish nation)

The reason she is riding on the beast is because during the tribulation years Israel will believe that the beast is the Messiah that they have been waiting for.

After all, he will come in and take charge as they thought Jesus was going to do. he will know the scriptures front and backwards and he will according to the bible (die) and rise again.

This belief will allow the anti Christ to obtain great power and it is how the temple will be (defiled) as the anti Christ will be given control of it.

Those are just my thoughts, I have nothing but my own studying to back it up with.

That lady is actually supposed to be the "Great Whore" which in reality represents the catholic church. Revelation states that "their conscience will be seared with a hot iron and be damned" It is talking about the catholic people because they will in turn follow the anti-christ and they will believe his lies and they will be damned for all eternity because of it. they already believe it is Ok to do every sin imaginable and repent only one day a week. Something somewhere is not right. The bible states that you should be sanctified every day through the blood of Jesus
