need immediate info on Emancipation from a parent. I am 16 years old residing in Manhattan, Ny. I would like to become emancipated from my mom, because there are a lot of family issues, and I feel that I can be on my own. I would like to get a job, still go to school, and there would be somewhere for me to stay.
Me and my mom dont get along most of the time. She doesn't let me spend time with my father. Sometimes I only spend 3 hrs with him a week. He just opened me up a bank account, she restricted my access to it. We also have gotten into a physical fight, and I called acs.
I would like to know what I have to do to become Emancipated? Please help

stop being such a spoiled brat! you have how many two more years until your an illegal adult? and all because you want to act out because "mommy isn't giving in to you demands" how pathetic. you think you want to be emancipated but the real truth is you don't because then a big pile of reality is going to fall down like a ton of bricks onto your head. you should never for any reason hit your mother that just shows how disrespectful you are and how you don't deserve the things you already have.
show the woman some respect, she did bring you into this earth, not to be tormented by you! she loves you and only wants the best for you,
you don't see that now, but one day she will be gone and you'll realize how deeply you love her!
and just wait until you have your own children! one day they're going to treat you the exact same way!
Karma's a Biatch!

Google "emancipation." All the info and forms are available on line. Don't expect this to be easy. You will have to show proof to a judge that you are employed, housed, and continuing the education process. In other words, you will have to take on the typical load of adult responsibilities while still in high school. Do you really think you are ready for that? In the long run, it might be wiser to wait until you graduate, and then find a job and move out. Your family life may be stressful, but it's a walk in the park compared to trying to do it all on your own, especially in Manhattan where housing is impossible! Remember, we can put up with anything as long as we know it's only temporary. What are two more years...compared to the rest of your life?
