I'm a Christian, but I read the book, and for the intellectuals out there, I highly recommend it.

All of those theodicies have been disputed long earlier he arrived on the scene. a million, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 have been replied in rather some types via Thomas Aquinas, St Augustine, David Hume, Liebniz, Descartes and others. 7 and eight are greater modern-day, yet there are nevertheless responses. although, each and every counter argument to a theodicy has it rather is very own refutal, and so the area nevertheless finally ends up being a stalemate. the only determiner so some distance seems to be "the two to procure faith or you do no longer". all the different arguments have been metaphysically argued into immobility.

Yes I've read Lee's book. It's a good book but it follows many of the basic assumptions that most apologetics follow.

For instance, in dealing with the question of the New Testament being reliable, he sites that there are some 5000+ textual fragments. Well, this says nothing about whether the text is reliable. It tells us we have a good idea of what the original text might have said but the “original” text still could have been wrong.

Still it is a good book and worth reading. I just don’t think you can draw all the conclusions that he draws.

Peace to you,

Atheists follow the devil? This is a complete new fact to me. geezz, I never knew this.

I thougt an atheist didn't believe in the Devil, but maybe i was always wrong in my atheistic beliefs.

BTW: try to read Earl Doherty's "Challenging the Verdict: A Cross-examination of Lee Strobel's "The Case for Christ"...you'll be surprised :)

Have you read "the Christ Conspiracy-the greatest story ever sold" by Archaya S ? How about the movie "the God who wasn't there" they both refute it pretty well.

And if you truly believe that God gave us free will (and is infallible) why would anyone try to take it away-that would prove he made a mistake-Are you questioning the will of God?

He made me(allowed me to be) an Atheist-I accept that-Who are you to say he's wrong-questioning the will of God-bad Christian...

Lee Strobel is a poor apologist.

I haven't read it myself, but none of his books are held in high regard for logic and persuasion by Non-Christians and indeed many Christians as well).

Why are you following some AUTHOR'S book? It's a freakin book for crying out loud, and there is no "logic" because nothing can be proven. No one alive today could even really say if he existed, and magical "divinity" is ridiculous and has no bit of even the slightest speck of logic to prove it's even possible.

If you want to believe in your magical soul fairy, fine, but posting this crap is not going to change who we are and you have no right to try.

Though I readily admit that I've not read Lee Strobel's "Case", from the opinions and arguments that clearly debunk his views on the proof of god, I would say that he's a complete and utter idiot.

I have watched interviews of him on pro-right-wing-Neo-Con-fundie channels, and if he has to explain his opinion to someone like Kirk Cameron, there is no credibility to his case.

Actually, you are mistaken. Strobel's book was thoroughly and emphatically rebutted... trounced, actually... by Earl Doherty, in his "CHALLENGING THE VERDICT: A Cross-Examination of Lee Strobel's The Case for Christ".

Oh... by the way... atheists do not believe in the devil... please update your knowledge base accordingly.

Why would you assume an atheist is following the devil just because he doesn't worship a god? I don't know or care if god exists and the devil was invented by man to represent the evil that mankind does.

i've read Case for a Creator, a different Lee Strobel book, it didn't take much research to find out that he was misinformed. one time he even provided information that hurt his argument, but he pretended it heLped.
