I have been seeing a guy off and on even though he is still seeing a girl back in his home town. We mean a lot to each other but the issue is his family, he wants to be with me but fears of what his family is going to do seeing we are a different race and he is a fair amount older then me. We are working toward being together and dealing with his family but my question is, is this all the same as cheating even with the circumstances we are under?

If you feel inside that its wrong then its wrong. Feelings don't like. Not love feelings but right and wrong feelings. trust it. It will keep you out of a lot of trouble.

Yes! It is cheating, without a doubt.

So, his family may not accept you, but what is holding him back from breaking it off "officially" with the other girl?

I'll tell you what it is. He is getting his cake and eating it too. He doesn't need to buy the cow when he's getting twice the milk for free! He is using you sweetie.

Please, open your eyes and do not allow him to take advantage of you one moment longer. You are worth SO much more than you are getting from this lopsided relationship. Until he has the courage (or desire) to officially break off his relationship with that other woman you should not see him again.

The issue with his family and your being of different races/ages sounds like a big excuse to me!!

Yes, it's the same as cheating. Hello?! I'll bet you a million dollars she doesn't know about you. Doing this will only get you hurt in the end. Unless he's a really strong person, it's hard not to give in to the pressures of your family that you've known for like...ALL your life. It's easier to want to please them and let you go.

yes you are cheating if he's still with her --and if he's doing it with you-- what makes you think he will be faithful to you. Think about it. What happens when another situations comes up. If he's a man he would have been with you regardless of what his family says. He wouldn't be with her if he were sure you were what he really wanted

Yes that would be cheating, Sorry to say, But if he is not married and no children then I guess there really is nothing to worry about

Technically yes, but it's not your fault. You should sit down and talk to him. Ask him if he knows what he wants, and tell him if he wants to be with you he needs to tell the other girl and stop seeing her
