I meant diet coke, and I am not an alcoholic, It is Friday and I want to go out tonight where drinking will probably take place. I am only on a diet to lose 15 pounds very soon, I have to pass physical requirements for the Army PT test. not like it is anybodys business.

Make sure you use diet or low sugar versions of your mixers... cranberry juice has almost as many calories as soda, but if you drink at home you can use the part splenda sort of cranberry juice-- 40 cals in 8 oz of this cranberry juice and still has some nutritional value
I like vodka water with a twist of lime if you like vodka-- it's a nice summer drink with only 60 cals total. Bacardi and diet also come in around 60 calories.
A glass of wine is between 80 and 110 calories, but moderate consumption has other health benefits.
Light beer (light American Lager like Miller Lite) has between 90 and 110 calories per bottle, so its really not as bad as most people think.

I totally agree with AKD...
Wine is good for you in moderation (like a glass a day). Vodka will get you more hammered with less calories, lite beer gives you a nice buzz with the same amount of calories as a glass of wine (and lite beer, because of the carbonation, will make you more full than a glass of wine).
I have been on a diet and exerise plan for 8 weeks...and I'm still drinking alcohol. I've lost 16 pounds, an average of 2 pounds a week (the healthy average).
Now, I know that you, and I, could lose a LOT more without drinking...but...
This is what I've been doing. I reduce calories and fat to a minimum, about 1500 calories and 10 to 15 grams of fat a day. However, what I consume is high in vitamins, minerals and proteins, and I also take a multivitamin and a calcium pill every day. Most importantly, if I feel hungry, I eat! Do not starve yourself! Make sure you are eating something beneficial to your body and you will lose the hunger.
I exercise with cardio and kickboxing 3 times a week for 45 minutes each session.
I limit myself to either 4 lite beers or 2 glasses of wine a weeknight, OR I can choose to skip the alcohol and take an over the counter sleep aid and go to bed earlier.
I do allow myself to drink whatever on the weekend, but I feel this is really hampering my weight loss.
I hope this helps you somewhat...Good Luck!!!
Also, if you feel that your drinking is taking over your life, in any way, please speak to your doctor, contact a hospital, contact AA. Someone will help you...but *you* have to take the first step.

Honey, just ignore all the haters who don't read the whole question and then give you all kinds of unwarranted advise!
I recommend Jack Daniels with Diet Coke.
You can also drink rum and Diet Coke. You could do almost any Vodka drink I think. How about a Screwdriver? Or a Bloody Mary? They both have fruit juice in them. You could always ask the cute bartender!
Best of luck in your weight loss efforts!

I would stay away from soda because the carbonation causes you to reduce calcium which affects weight loss and the fake sugar causes bad reactions which causes you to retain fat. Some drinks that you could have would be:
- light beer
- apple juice, tonic, and vodka
- vodka and lime juice
I would stay away from cranberry juice because it is full of corn syrup (almost every bar uses cranberry cocktail instead of juice. I know because I love cosmos and I'm allergic to corn syrup). Instead stick with 100% juices which tend to be orange juice and apple juice. Tonic water also is a safe bet because there is no sugar in it.
Good Luck!

If you are on a diet to lose weight, you MUST know that COKE is just the WORST thing you can drink! If you want to drink an alcoholic beverage try wine. It is probably the most "anti-oxident" and therefore healthy alcoholic beverage and has very few calories....
(liquer and COKE???? Are you actually ON a diet or are you just jivin' us?)
