You want to get a really good lotion and start using it at least a couple times a day. Those cracks can turn into a nasty infection.

It sounds like an internal fungus that oral meds will cure (not creams or such that you apply to the skin) Lamasil works the best but requires a Doctors prescription and is pricey ($120 bucks, give or take), for a month supply without insurance. It can take several months to clear up the infection but it's worth it. I bet if you look closely you have thick toenails (sometimes just a couple) and dry scaly areas that you might mistake for callouses on your toes and heels.

Don't think there is a cure just preventive maintanance. there are products on the marker like emery boards to sand off the excess dead skin... I am cheap and use a very fine sand paper 180 fine glued to a 3 in wide board. maintanance is done by a good moisture type lotion applied daily to keep the skin soft ... Someone else might have a better solution and you might mention it to your doctor the next time you visit

I have cracks in my heels (yeah I know...so attractive) and I went to a foot doctor. He told me that that is dry feet. You shouldn't walk around in bare feet and you should also moisturize your feet. The cracks can get dirty and infected. There are many heel and feet palms on the market. I use Kerasal. It is very good.
I also use a *stone* from Dr Sholls. Just rub it gently on your feet/heels and use the Kerasal twice a day (morning and night). At night sleep with socks on after you put on the ointment.
This all really helped my feet.

May be athlete's foot. There are over-the-counter medications for that. Ask the pharmacist. If that is indeed the problem, try not to pick it up again after it's gone... wear flip-flops in any communal showers.
