the pathophysiology is that a foreign object has been forcefully and traumatically introduced into the scalp, and occasionally the skull and brain. It can sever nerves, vessels, the meninges (coverings of the brain), or the brain itself.

Much of the evaluation of the injury has to do with what part of the head was injured. Do you have specific questions about someone you know or is this a general fishing type question?
