Dr. Ross gives more than 300 parameters which would need to be fulfilled for life to exist anywhere in the universe, and he explains that for all of them to be filled by chance occurrance would be one chance out of 10^ 282!!! To conclude that life can still arise by random chance you have to be really, really UNRATIONAL and ignorant. there aren't even that many atomes in the visible universe!!

With the age of the earth (and universe), the probability of life happening as a happy accident is actually greater than you think.

Though I haven't read Dr. Ross' "parameters", it sounds as though he didn't take into consideration the BILLIONS OF YEARS this planet has existed. In a BILLION years, a lot of things can occur naturally.

Personally, I believe a tiny teapot orbits the sun. Do you? If not, why? Neither can I prove or disprove its existence but I have faith.

And the galloping unicorn that I know feeds on the rose bushes in my garden. I can never catch a glimpse of him, but I know him to be true. Prove to me he's not.

there is actual evidence of a God that exists or existed. That evidence is us. Now seem at it this way: we are right here, alive and respiratory. some type of existence source had to of created our existence rigidity. no matter if God is a ability in area or another being, he does exist. people like favor to assert it became the great bang that created each and every little thing. yet how about this: What if the great bang became God? user-friendly count number and darkish count number colliding, may reason the introduction of each and every little thing. even if it is going previous our comprehension. existence can not come from something that would not contain existence. If there became no existence, then there might want to be no existence. Our body is made out of ability and that is what God is made out of. it truly is how we are in his photo. which may be how he's with each and every man or woman in any respect time. after we die, our soul (ability) can not die. It ought to both flow into yet another existence (Reincarnation) or back to the major source. ability ought to proceed to be shifting because lifeless products do not contain ability.

Yes... except that Dr. Ross's equations is based on bogus assumptions, which do not pass scientific or mathematical muster... they only sound plausable to the scientifically ignorant, not to the scientifically literate. This is a common tactic or the 'Liars For Jesus' (LFJ) community... presenting pseudo-scientific drivel to convince the scientifically ignorant that there is some sort of scientific conspiracy going on, under satanic influence, to undermine god. The fact that people like you get sucked in by this nonsense does nothing more than prove how gullible undereducated 'believers' actually are. The really sad and scary thing, though, is that gullible, undereducated believers make up about 80% of our population.

As one who believes in Gods existance I think you are going in the wrong direction.

There is NO proof that God exists. There isn't a birthday card from him, no letter signed God, there isn't even a rough sketch of him on a cave wall somewhere.

But that is part of the plan, to offer humans the opportunity to have FAITH in His being. If there were hard proof that He is, then everyone would believe. That would make Jesus a waste of time (for who ever should believe in me shall have eternal life)

What you are showing here is one of the fallacies of statistics.

If an event happened the probability of it happening is 1.0

For instance if you flip a coin 10 times and got:

Heads, heads, heads, tails, heads, heads, tails, tails, tails, heads

The probability of that happening is 1.0, since it happened.

Now what would the odds of repeating those throws? It would be.

1:2*2*2*2*2*2*2*2*2*2 or 1:1024 or a probability of 0.00098

Hope this makes sense.

Dr. Ross's opinion is just one of many, and even if he comes up with a number of how improbable it is for life to exist without there having to be a divine ultimate creator, there is still that possibility that we are here without a creator, so yeah, when you have proof come back and will chat

10^282 - and then you claim "there aren't even that many atomes in the visible universe!!"

And just how did you or he determine that there aren't that many atomes (sic) in the visible universe? What scientific means, what instrument, what measure?

The real question is "What Would Jesus Do?"

Would he try to gather us up and proving us wrong by posting a web address on Yahoo! Questions? Or would he accept everyone around him, and try to do something for all mankind - like plant a tree, or give someone a hug?

Wow - that is some of the worst mathematics I have ever seen.

I get the feeling that the author does not even know what life is.

Or how math works.... or if he does, he is delibrately avoiding it.

Sorry, that's not proof that your god exists. What that was, was a pathetic attempt at converting atheists. Try again.

Edit: Jimdpr: I have that and it is an excellent book!
