First off, don't listen to anyone in ROTC; they know jack about the operational AF. Second, don't listen to officers, they tend to live in a fairy tale world and are usually surrounded by "yes-men" and don't know the reality of being the an Airman (E-1). Anyways, the AF isn't bad. It just depends what you want to go in to. I was Security Forces for 6 years and it sucked compared to how the rest of the AF lives. I am now retraining. I have been all over the world, mostly the crapper places, so I'm pretty well rounded. I really don't want my email in the open but I will answer any questions that I am qualified to answer.

I am not exactly in the Air Force (AFROTC), but I have been around the Air Force my entire life and have a pretty good understanding of it. My dad is still in as an officer. There are lots of great benefits apart from seeing the world and having a good job. If no one else responds you can ask me. I understand the deployment cycles (AEF rotations), leave, etc.
