My hubby is a Drill Sergeant for BCT. Each post and each unit handles Family Day differently. If he's done what's expected of him and he agrees to the rules and so on, he should be given a pass to go off post and visit with you. However, he might be expected to be back in the barracks for lights out. Once again, this depends on where he is. After graduation, he'll once again be given a pass to spend time with you. This will all depend on when he leaves for his AIT and how much time is allotted. Please don't have too high of expectations. There's alot going on at this proud and special time for new soldiers.

As an "old" timer and wife, I'd also expect you to respect the uniform. You wouldn't believe how many women hang all over their men and kiss and so on. This IS against regulation, no matter how much you miss them. Mind you, I'm not saying you can't show emotion and all that. Just don't let it go too far and be sure to keep in him line like the DS do!!

Good luck and enjoy this time!! Be proud and honored that he's your man!!

Don't let him eat cookies ( my hubby did and they pulled his pas) But as long as he's a good boy and he stays in line than he should be able to go off Base like back to the hotel with you or what ever. I've been there good luck and tell him thank you from my family to yours.

It is the post commander who sets that policy, which is then followed by his commander, and D.S. Almost always yes though, as long as he wasn't a screw up while he was in BCT.

It mostly depends on when he is shipping out. Most of the time they are restrected to post. They can go around the post with the family.

Most likely not. You should be asking him this question though.
