You did them too fast.I do 60 crunches everyday but I don't feel any pain. But when I did crunches for my fitness test,I did 48 in 1 minute and felt like my stomach was stabbed.Ouch!

I have no idea what you did, but a proper crunch is: lay on your back feet in the air ankles crossed knees at a 90 degree angle (like your siiting in a chair)arms crossed over your chest and lift 3 or 4 inches but make sure you focus on your muscles contract and release.

Hey remember don't do any untill you feel better and don't over do it.

Probably just a coincidence
I used to do 600 at one time but about a year ago I went to the beach and they have a fitness trail and I tried to do an inclined situp and did one and pulled a muscle ...it popped and everything and hurt like hell.

My girfriend laughed like crazy and won't let me live it down.
ONE arghhh!

That was too much all at once! Start out small with only 5-10 and gradually build. But don't do ANY till you completely recover.

I did that once. I hadn't done that exercise very often and tried to do too many crunches and it affected me the same way. I guess either you should do less, or pace yourself.

You probably ate just before your crunch session...........make sure you do stomache excercises on an empty stomache! 3-4 hrs after your last meal!

You could have irritated a existing trouble like gastric, ulcer, or tore the lining on your stomach, hopefully not, see a doc !

you just way over did it and your body is reacting to it that way.... like others said start out slow and pace yourself...... be careful you could get a hernia for over exerting yourself....
