Why not try chicken dumpling recipe?? This one's my favorite...
INGREDIENTS:
* 4 large skinless, boneless chicken breast halves - cut into strips
* 4 cubes chicken bouillon
* 2 stalks celery, chopped
* 1 small onion, chopped
* 1 sprig fresh parsley, chopped
* salt and pepper to taste
*
* 2 cups all-purpose flour
* 1 egg
* 1/2 cup sour cream
* 1/2 cup chicken broth
* 1/2 cup cornstarch, to thicken broth
DIRECTIONS:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add chicken, bouillon, celery, parsley and salt and pepper to taste. Cook for 45 minutes or until chicken is no longer pink inside. Reduce heat to low and continue to simmer.
2. To Make Dumplings: While chicken is cooking, combine the flour, egg, sour cream, and chicken broth in a medium bowl. Mix well and roll dough out on a floured surface. Cut into small squares and drop into boiling chicken broth. In a small bowl, mix together corn starch and enough water to form a thin paste; stir into broth. Continue to simmer for 5 to 10 minutes, or until dumplings are light and puffy.

Chicken with Dumplings Ingredients: A hen or 5-6 pounds of chicken 1 quart of water 1 cup of milk 1 teaspoon of salt 1 egg 1 egg yolk 1 tablespoon of shortening 3 cups of flour Season salt (season to suit taste) A picture of this dish is available on the CD. Click here for your copy. Equipment: Large pot Measuring cups Measuring spoons Rolling pin Bowl Instructions: Put water into a large pot and bring to a boil. Cut the hen/chicken into pieces. Place the pieces into the pot of boiling water. Reduce heat and simmer for about 2 ½ hours or until tender. While the hen/chicken is cooking, make the dumplings: Combine the milk, salt, eggs, shortening, and flour in a bowl. Stir ingredients until a ball forms (add more flour if needed) Use a rolling pin and roll out the dough into a very thin sheet. Cut the dough into 1- inch strips. Then cut the dough into ½ inch squares. Once the meat has completely cooked, separate the meat from the bone. Drop the bones back into the pot and lay the meat aside. Then add the dumpling squares into the pot a few squares at a time until all the dumpling squares have been added. Cook the dumplings until they are completely done. (They should float when they are completely cooked.) Then add the meat back into the pot with the dumplings. Add season salt. Serve and enjoy. NOTE: Leaving the bones in the pot keeps the dumplings from sticking to the bottom and burning.

In a large pot, place aproximately three pounds of chicken breast filets and about 8 cups water. Add a sprig of fresh rosemary, a sprig of fresh sweet basil, about 1/2 teaspoon of fresh ground black pepper and a teaspoon of sea salt(seasalt has a better flavor than table salt and is healthier). Coarsely chop up one medium carrot, a celery stalk and a small onion. Add this to the pot and bring to a rapid boil. Cut the heat down to a simmer for about 45 minutes, covered. While simmering prepare your dumplings:
Dumpling recipe:
2 1/2 cups plain flour
1/2 teaspoon sea salt mixed into flour
cool water (stir into flour mixture enough to make a stiff dough)
Knead the dough until stiff. Use a floured rolling pin and roll out until the dough is about as thin as a thin pizza crust. Cut into about one inch wide strips about four inches long. After the chicken has simmered for aproximately 45-60 minutes, add the dumplings and cook until the dumplings thicken and turn slightly, up to about 30 minutes. The chicken should be beginning to shred and the mixture thickening up. It is now ready to serve(serves aprox.6).
Serve with some fresh, home made, thick sliced, garlic bread.
Use a thick sliced loaf of wheat bread smeared with a mixture of 5 tablespoons of olive oil and 1 heaping tablespoon of dried basil and a teaspoon of minced garlic stirred in. Coat both sides and bake at 350 degrees until golden brown in the oven. Prepare this during the final 20 minutes cooking time of the chicken and dumplings.
Serve with a fresh garden salad of your choice.
Total preparation time- aprox. 90-105 minutes.

I am going to give you the easiest recipe in the world for dumplings....take can biscuits, one by one flatten them out , not paper thin but flat, coat them in flour but don't totally shake all of the flour off of them. Tear them them apart in about quarter to half dollar size pieces and drop them into the boiled chicken and broth. Let them simmer and in a little while,,,waalaa,,,homemade dumplings! Enjoy!
