Yes....but it won't taste or thicken the same. I like to use half heavy cream and half whole milk it is thinner but has the same taste. I would try evap.....just to see ....who knows...it might be good???

No, I would not use that, get 1/2 and 1/2 or cream, I use evaporated milk in coffee though.

evaporated milk is usually sweetened, so it'd be really nasty if you tried to make Alfredo sauce with it.

it's also not the same consistency, it won't thicken quite the same as cream

NO, but........

As per Joy Of Cooking:

Cream, whipping, heavy (36-40% butterfat):
Equivalent for 1 cup is:
1/3 cup butter, plus about 3/4 cup milk

I really don't think that it would taste good. Evaporated milk is pretty thick but it is also usually sweetened. Good luck though.

I would say no. It does not have the density of heavy cream.
