We are having a bbq at a regional park after our son's baptism. The parking fee is 6.00 per car. We are providing the food, drinks and entertainment. Would it be right to ask each carload to pay their own fee into the park or should we pay it?

We are inviting approx. 45 people, which comes to about 15 families.

if you are providing all of the food, drinks, and entertainment, I think that your guests can pay their own parking fee. We have always paid for our own parking at my husband's company picnic as well as at my family reunions.

I think it's fair to ask them to pay for parking. You obviously just had a new baby that will add to your own family's expenses. Maybe on the invite you could mention the fee so no one is surprised and they carry cash with them. Just write it plain and simple: "FYI: The park charges $6.00 for parking."

Enjoy your special day!

Each family should pay their own parking fee. When the cost is spread out it comes down to a mere 6. But when it is collected and passed down to a single person, it comes to over half a thousand dollars to the one organizing and feeding this event. Who would be cheap anough to refuse to pay the 6 definately should not deserve your hosting and event.

I hate to say it but if you invited someone to a park where they have to pay you should pay for it. If you don't want the added expense go somewhere where the parking is free for everyone. Good luck

In my opinion, as the hosts of the occasion, you should pay the parking fee.

Because it is such a personal event, as opposed to a family reunion, and you are asking the people to come to this area, you really should at least offer to pay the parking fee.

Having, said that, hopefully people will thank you for offering, but decline, and pay it themselves.

yeah, the individual families pay for their own parking. What if you were having it at a theme park? They'd have to pay for it there.
