Everyone dislikes them for that. Christ preached humility and love, not condescending attitudes and hatred. Those poor misguided Christians.

Those people you are encountering are not Christians. A real Christian would not treat people in this way. If you pray or not pray is between you and whatever God you wish to worship if you do wish. A lot of people want to just cause problems, be nosey, try and tell others what to do and they use Religion as there right to do so. When no one has a right to tell anyone else who they should pray to or even if they should pray.

Because they are trying to take credit for changing people and do not know that only God can author change in anyone's heart. They boast and turn people like you in the other direction and I can't fault you.............I can only encourage you to keep on your journey. We livve in a culture where moral standards are set by human wisdom, not by God's wisdom.. Truth is found in the testimony of clever minds, not in the fear and trembling uttered by humble prophets. How do we pray? For more perfect understanding? For a greater capacity for spiritual descernment? OR SIMPLY FOR PUTTING ON THE MIND OF CHRIST JESUS??????? You or I don't owe these boastful people an answer, so turn from them and walk off. Good luck!!
And good question!!!!

Dearest writer,
Jesus commanded us to share his gospel with you...and that's what many are attempting to do. I'm sorry that you have been offended so many times. Jesus also instructed us to love one another.
In Christ's love, I only want to share that he has filled that hole in my heart...and made me into a new creation. Please read First John, ask God to help you understand what you're reading.
He made you, and He understands you. He really is a Father to the fatherless and a husband to the widow.
I lived with lonliness and emptiness for 22 years, but have been a different person for 25 years. No one can argue with a changed life. Take a peek and see what your spirit learns tonite.
I believe you may dislike these "Christians" not only because they have offended you somehow, but because Jesus allows no lukewarm attitude. As an author said, "You either believe Christ is the Son of God as he said he was, or you believe he was a madman." Unfortunately, the decision affects your eternal soul.
of spending time with God or separated from Him forever.
God Bless you in your search,
Darcel

Hypochristians-hypocrite Christians are very much what you've just described, don't hold all of us in that light though. A real Christian would worry about you and want you to be saved, I would never want to be guilty of letting anyone fall into the snare if I could pull them back from the edge with one simple question.

I`ve found that people can be judgmental etc... without being Christians. There are good and bad in all races and religions. You can`t put everybody in the same catorgory. That would mean your are being judemental and acting in a way that you hate in others.

I usually find that informing them that they have need to read the first verse of the 7th chapter of Matthew again works fairly well. And so does politely saying 'If you will excuse me now' and walking away from them, and further ignoring anything else they may say.

well I will only judge you on your horrible grammar, besides that yes I agree that it is annoying to be asked silly questions like if you died today would you go to heaven? It is simple minded arrogance and complete ignorance and I agree very smug and UN-Christian like attitude.

I am sorry that you have experienced this attitude. It is not a Christians place to judge or be rightuous in attitude. Please do not feel like all Christians share this attitude. There are so many people in the world, we are all individual.
