do kidney stones float? I was told I have a bladder infection, but when I went to the bathroom today, I peed out something. was wondering if it could be a kidney stone, but it was floating. thought maybe they didnt float. am feeling much better now, but i am taking meds so maybe thats why i feel better, anyone know?

I've had four and none of them floated. They were all like rocks. I'm not sure if it was a kidney stone, but if it was I don't think a small floating stone could have caused you much discomfort. If you were in pain then it would be a bigger stone.

It could be any number of things. But I don't think it was a kidney stone. None of mine have ever floated.

Small ones can float.
